everyone remembers Planet of the Apes?

I'm watching it right now. But, ignoramus me, had no idea there were 5 movies made, and available in a boxed set.

Until I found this....

...at Amazon.com....

...and bought it.
The sixth disc in the box is a documentary titled Behind the Planet of the Apes, hosted by Roddy McDowell, and has interviews with Charlton Heston and Kim Hunter. The doco takes us from production meetings to makeup sessions, then on to the movie set to see the actual filming of this science fiction masterpiece.
I'm looking forward to seeing this after I've watched all the movies.

  1. I've heard so much about Planet of the Apes, although I've not seen any of it. Now I'm curious and must do something about that curiosity.

  2. I enjoyed watching it again, it's still a good movie in my opinion, and very well made for its time.

  4. I didn't know there were 5 movies either.

Make sure you let us know what they are like.

  5. Widdleshamrock; the second movie was a bit weird, didn't impress me all that much, the third was quite sad, with Cornelius and Zira being shot and killed, their baby too, but right at the end there's a twist, the baby survives to make an appearance in the fourth movie which I'm watching right now.

  7. I remember seeing them on TV but they scared me at the time.... maybe I should give them another go?

  8. How long ago did you see them Kath? There's nothing scary there....
Did you see the movies or the TV series? Possibly the tv series has a little more of the battles between humans and apes so could be scary for young kids. I've never seen it.

  9. hi River,

I knew there were 5 films - I read the books too. My personal favourite is "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes".
