For more fruit of course.
Luckily I'd just washed the dust out of it.

Not exactly environmentally friendly...... Line the base of your oven with a sheet of aluminium foil. If you keep a tray there to catch spills and overflows, line the tray with aluminium foil instead. It's much easier to throw away a sheet of foil (once it's been spilled on a few dozen times), than it is to scrub off baked on spillovers.

My first thought when the countdown reached one was....wait for it....wait for it.... THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO! :-).

I like finding new apples and found Honeycrisp a year ago. Great in season. I read they were being marketed to the American public like they were Red Delicious, but no matter. I like them.
ReplyDeleteRiver...... Some people live for fruit. I've hardly ever eaten fruit except my apricots and pears off the tree. BUT I love the bowl and it's a fruit bowl with all the little fruits lined along the top.

Delores; fruit is everything you've described. I like watching pears ripening as the days go by. The change from hard green to ripe yellow, the red blush and little freckles.
Plasman; perhaps you've tried them when they're too green and not sweet? Or too ripe and mushy soft?
Joanne; America has different names for some of their apples (and potatoes too), I've never heard of the Honeycrisp.
Manzanita; I love apples and bananas, and most other fruits, but it's hard to get them properly ripe and fresh. There's a small "season" window when they're perfect, before and after that it's all "storage" fruit and I can taste the difference and the texture is wrong too. The bowl I snapped up when it was on sale for half price about 16 years ago.
JeanetteLS; I think I love fruits and vegetables equally. Although there are some of each I just don't like at all.
I love seeing pics of your place. You've cleaned it up so nicely and it's such a sweet little home. I like your walking about town posts as well.
