Whimsical Wednesday # 91

Welcome back to Whimsical Wednesday!

The day for your googled giggle that gets you over the hump that is Wednesday and sliding down into the weekend.

How come every place we go looks like Canada?

Captain Jack O'Neill, from Stargate SG1
One of my favourite characters in one of my favourite shows.

Comments

  1. I am lost here today - probably because I have never seen Stargate SG1. Nice image though.

  5. Elephant's Child; Stargate is a TV series, the big ring (gate) you see there is a portal to other planets in other galaxies. It has symbols which are "dialled in", then a the team steps through the "gate" and comes out in the place they've chosen. It's Science Fiction. The series was filmed in Canada, hence the joke.

Delores; see my explanation to EC^, Canada probably is a great place to be, I certainly want to visit if I ever win enough money, but I'd come in your summer, I couldn't handle the winter cold and snow.

Joanne; the bog O is a "Stargate", a portal to other worlds. It's a Science Fiction TV series, filmed in Canada.

klahanie; I knew that, that's why I love the joke. Love the show too and own all the seasons as well as the original movie with Kurt Russell and James Spader.

Barbara Neubeck; it's one of my favourites. I once vowed to watch the entire series and note how many times Teal'c said "indeed". Haven't done that yet.

  6. "Indeed", sounds like a great drinking game, River.
And why do they have to shoot everything they find?
And why do they never run out of bullets?
Andy why can't I convert you to Babylon 5?

  7. I have never watched Stargate (never weatched Babylon 5 either) but I believe my daughter is a fan of Stargate. I thought it was one of those wheels that all big towns around the world seem to have so shows how ignorant I am.
I am also an ignoramus with computers cos I could not find your email address anywhere on your profile and I searched and searched. Would it be safe for me to leave either my name or email address on here. Will wait to hear from you.

  8. JahTeh; the drinks would have to be water, otherwise we'd all be legless after the first disc. As for shooting everything, I have no answer for that. I ask myself the same question with almost every movie. They never run out of bullets because it is TV-land. I've never actually watched any of Babylon 5. I'll have to see if my library has it, I'd like to watch before I buy, then I can make up my mind.

Mimsie; yes, I think I've heard (read) her mention Stargate a time or two. Wouldn't be safe to leave your email here, I'll check my profile, it should be there. Did you click the link that says "view full profile"?

  9. Mimsie; you're right, it wasn't there. I've fixed that, if you view complete profile there is now a link for email contact. If I start getting spam email I'll take it down again.
