  1. Leave it to a man to discover something that important by accident lol.

  2. Definitely hot baths. A hot drink would be nice too - but I have no idea when hot drinks were invented. And what the first one was. Hot mammoth milk?

  3. How would I make a cuppa Earl Grey?!

  4. Delores; when they're sitting idly by while we cave women skin the mammoth. Then when we accidentally drop some meat in the fire, they take the credit for discovering cooking too.

Elephant's Child; the first hot drinks were tea and soup I'd say. Herbs steeped in water, and the liquid left over from cooking whatever meat they had.

Susan Kane; first grow your tea plant....

  5. And then the blond invented hot baths and coffee. Or tea, for Susan.

  6. Good find, River.

Had a good giggle at Joanne's comments too :)

  7. I'm glad he did just think we might have considered cold baths the normal thing.

  8. Time for a barbie and not the doll. Nice cartoon!

    Gary :)

  9. Joanne; of course she did, a man wouldn't think of hot baths coffee. They'd be sampling the fermented leftover grains to see if they were still edible and discovering beer in the process.

Op Ex; I love these Caveman cartoons.

Vicki; Joanne has a sharp wit. :)

Merlesworld; in Sweden cold baths are common, they jump in straight after getting out of the saunas. It's supposed to be good for the skin and circulation. I'd probably die from the shock.

klahanie; it's always time for a barbie. :)

  10. Men have invented everything.

    Women invent headaches.

(To avoid the old in and out)

  11. R.H. the headaches are a by-product of listening to you men brag all day over having made your own toast or something equally inconsequential, while we've taken care of the rest of breakfast, made the beds, done a load of washing and got the kids off to school, then done the breakfast dishes, all while you're munching your self-made toast.

  12. It's time to sit around the fire pit and swap stories here in the midwest. Soon it will be homemade soup time.

  13. I have a great picture joke of a cave couple sitting next to a fire and him saying "Now you can do housework at night too".. Great joke

  14. Where would we be without fire? Well, back in the stone age, obviously . . .

  15. Linda O'Connell; home made soup is the best kind, no matter what the flavour.

Kymbo; so he could see into the future could he?

    jabblog; and cold too.

  16. So many things discovered by accident...but possibly fire was one of the very first.
