You all know the ice cream company? Very expensive ice cream, which I recently discovered in small tubs at my local supermarket. I'd heard about Salted Caramel ice cream, with some bloggers raving about it, so when I saw the Haagen-Dazs tubs on sale for only $5 I bought some. I loved it! Fabulous stuff. Just the right amount of salted caramel streams to counteract the sweet ice cream. I would have rated it five stars. But just lately, I have been disappointed with the product containing far too much of the salted caramel and my rating now would be only one star. I went to the website and clicked on "contact us" to let them know I was no longer happy. The link popped up with an address to "General Mills" which I then clicked on only to find a small popup informing me they were "offline". Just because it is past regular business hours or permanently? Who knows. So I'm airing my grievance here instead. If this results in fewer sales of their Sa
I think you do wonderfully well with your posts River - enjoy a spell!
ReplyDeleteGet better soon, River, how is the bite?
ReplyDeleteI hope this is NOT due to the spider bite!!
ReplyDeleteNapping and reading sounds good to me....maybe some chocolate?
ReplyDeleteI get that way from time to time. You can't really fight it, just move on and try to do better tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSounds great to me! Last week I spent two days and two nights in my jammies. I ate fattening food, slept a lot, watched a little TV, and that's about it! It did me a world of good in these terribly cold temperatures we're dealing with. I hope you are refreshed and feeling perfect when you come back!
ReplyDeleteGood idea, River. Stay cool.
ReplyDeleteJust you rest up and enjoy a relaxing day. With that dreadfully hot weather you are experiencing and more to come I would imagine you are feeling a trifle washed out.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your return with your usual so interesting posts.
Keep well and I too hope that bite has nothing to do with your feeling of malaise although I believe you said it was OK.
Sounds like a perfect day to me - just add a frozen cocktail or three. What else can one do in that stifling heat?
ReplyDeleteRose~from OZ; I enjoyed my day of nothing doing, I think I'll make it a regular thing, at least while this heat is on.
ReplyDeleteGillie; the bite is almost completely gone, just a small scab surrounded by dry skin now.
fishducky; absolutely not. I've been running around doing stuff and seeing people I didn't catch up with at Christmas, not a good idea in the heat.
Delores; I didn't get much reading done, it was mostly napping. No chocolate...just don't feel like it. I ate lots of ice cream though.
Rick Watson; I need to remember I shouldn't rush about in the summer, even if the temperature does drop a bit.
Becky; that sounds like two fantastic days to me! I tend to have more pyjama days in the winter.
Vicki; I stayed very cool, turned the air down to 19 degrees and slept a lot.
Mimsie; the bite is fine, nothing to worry about there. I was just doing too much catching up while the temperature was down a bit, but it was still too hot and I shouldn't have.
Marie; it was a lovely day. I ate ice cream, drank soft drink and lots of water in between naps.
You are doing the right thing. I believe the zoological term is estivation. I shall do the same when summer comes to the northern hemisphere. Currently, I am hibernating.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing a lot of nothing myself! Hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteGeo; estivation? That's a word I've never heard, so I've learned something today. I hibernate a bit in our winter, but not much, it's just not as cold as your northern winters.
ReplyDeleteHappy Elf Christine; I am well, thank you, just overwhelmed by our heat, because I've had to be out in it a bit too much.
