taking a break today

I can't think of a single thing to post and I'm feeling a bit washed out.

I'll spend the day napping and reading, see you tomorrow!

  1. I think you do wonderfully well with your posts River - enjoy a spell!

  2. Get better soon, River, how is the bite?

  3. I hope this is NOT due to the spider bite!!

  4. Napping and reading sounds good to me....maybe some chocolate?

  5. I get that way from time to time. You can't really fight it, just move on and try to do better tomorrow.

  6. Sounds great to me! Last week I spent two days and two nights in my jammies. I ate fattening food, slept a lot, watched a little TV, and that's about it! It did me a world of good in these terribly cold temperatures we're dealing with. I hope you are refreshed and feeling perfect when you come back!

  7. Just you rest up and enjoy a relaxing day. With that dreadfully hot weather you are experiencing and more to come I would imagine you are feeling a trifle washed out.
Look forward to your return with your usual so interesting posts.
Keep well and I too hope that bite has nothing to do with your feeling of malaise although I believe you said it was OK.

  8. Sounds like a perfect day to me - just add a frozen cocktail or three. What else can one do in that stifling heat?

  9. Rose~from OZ; I enjoyed my day of nothing doing, I think I'll make it a regular thing, at least while this heat is on.

Gillie; the bite is almost completely gone, just a small scab surrounded by dry skin now.

fishducky; absolutely not. I've been running around doing stuff and seeing people I didn't catch up with at Christmas, not a good idea in the heat.

Delores; I didn't get much reading done, it was mostly napping. No chocolate...just don't feel like it. I ate lots of ice cream though.

Rick Watson; I need to remember I shouldn't rush about in the summer, even if the temperature does drop a bit.

Becky; that sounds like two fantastic days to me! I tend to have more pyjama days in the winter.

Vicki; I stayed very cool, turned the air down to 19 degrees and slept a lot.

Mimsie; the bite is fine, nothing to worry about there. I was just doing too much catching up while the temperature was down a bit, but it was still too hot and I shouldn't have.

Marie; it was a lovely day. I ate ice cream, drank soft drink and lots of water in between naps.

  10. You are doing the right thing. I believe the zoological term is estivation. I shall do the same when summer comes to the northern hemisphere. Currently, I am hibernating.

  11. I've been doing a lot of nothing myself! Hope you are well.

  12. Geo; estivation? That's a word I've never heard, so I've learned something today. I hibernate a bit in our winter, but not much, it's just not as cold as your northern winters.

Happy Elf Christine; I am well, thank you, just overwhelmed by our heat, because I've had to be out in it a bit too much.
