Musical Monday #14

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Bette Midler

Wind Beneath My Wings from the movie Beaches

and the lyrics so you can sing along.

  1. Never seen the movie (I haven't seen most movies) but love the song. She has a phenomenal voice.

  2. I'm a bit of a rock n' roll rebel. However, I do like that song by Bette Midler.

  3. Like EC I've never seen the movie not being a movie fan but have always loved the song.
Did you know Roger Whittaker was the first to record it but for some reason Bette Midler's version seems to be the one we hear.
If you can find it on google do listen to Roger Whittaker's version. It is truly beautiful.
Thank you for sharing this song today as the song itself makes it enjoyable.

  4. Fran; mine too. One of many favourites.

Elephant's Child; one of the best voices I know. I love the movie, but it makes me cry.

    Susan; you're very welcome.

klahanie; I like a bit of rock'n'roll myself.

Mimsie; I'll look up Roger Whittaker's version and have a listen. I'd say we hear Bette Midler's version more because it is newer and many people associate it with the movie.
