Musical Monday # 30

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Gene Pitney

I Wanna Love My Life Away.

Another golden oldie.

  4. "Town Without Pity" was on the flip-side of "I Wanna Love My Life Away".

  5. joeh; I've no idea, I never bought Gene Pitney's records, I was cashless way back then and just heard them on the radio, now I have it via I-tunes.
Lee, below you here, tells us Town Without Pity was the flip side.

Merle; so very long ago. This was one of my favourites, I remember hoping to find 'the one' that I could love my life away with.

Lee; not a huge star, but big enough, and in my opinion far better than Gerry & the Pacemakers who got more airplay. Town Without Pity; I remember that too.

  6. Yes, I remember that song and you've again chosen one of my favourite artists. I really do show my age when I comment on the singers I enjoy.
    Thanks for sharing this one.

  7. Mimsie; I always enjoy Gene Pitney's voice, it seems to have more feeling than many others of that time.
