Musical Monday #34

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Brenda Lee

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree

A golden oldie that I remember from the sixties I think

  1. What time did you get up this morning, River? I was up at five...but it looks like you were up way before then!

  3. Lee; I've pre-scheduled a lot of these to go up at 1am. I had a day recently when my internet connection was fabulous and since I had nothing else to do, I got busy pre-posting.

Merle; I was up at 4.15am, Angel wouldn't wait any longer for his breakfast and I was hungry too.

  4. I was up around 3.30. Thanks Jazz.
And, for a change, went back to bed about 5.30 and dozed until 7. Bliss.
I am so not ready for Christmas.

  5. That song is always fun, and makes you look forward to Christmas. It does have a way of getting stuck in your head though...

  6. Hi River,

    Have you heard this version?

  7. I used to love Brenda Lee.

    Shows how old I am.

  8. Elephant's Child; I was up then too showing Angel his bowl of dry food, he nibbled at it while I went back to bed, but he didn't eat enough to satisfy him, so I didn't manage to get back to sleep. I'm not ready for Christmas yet either, I'm hoping Christmas songs might get me more in the mood. So far it isn't working.

Jackie K; it is a fun song, they're the best kind. Nothing worse than a song that makes you feel miserable.

Plasman; probably, I listened to a lot of versions while looking for that one. I'll check it anyway.

Friko; Old? what is old? I don't know old. Not today anyway. :) My dad was a big Brenda Lee fan, so I heard a lot of her songs before I was 10.

  9. I used to listen to and enjoy Brenda Lee years ago. She's one artist I'd completely forgotten about so thanks for sharing.

  10. It took me a week to remember where I had heard this in the last year or so. http://youtu.be/3Ij8BpOa-Pg at the 4 minute mark. I think Brenda is more in tune.
