Musical Monday # 64

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Pearl Jam

Last Kiss

and the lyrics

A sad song, but I love it.

  1. Hi River,

I've never heard that song by Pearl Jam. It's almost like a country and western song (which I am guessing it was originally).

    Quite a surprise.

    :o)

    Cheers

  3. I don't recall hearing this version before...I may have done, but I'm probably more likely to have heard the earlier versions.

Following Plastic Mancunian's comment, me,being me went on a search...and below is what I learned.

  5. Plasman; I'm surprised you've never heard this. I know it isn't your heavy rock style preference, but I know you've heard Pearl Jam.

fishducky; I hadn't thought of it as country, but I can hear it now that you and Plasman have mentioned it.

Lee; I didn't know there were other versions, I heard this first when my son bought the album. I'll listen to the version you found.

  6. Elephant's Child; I like bits of everything except rap and heavy metal, although there has been a couple of heavy metal selections at Plasman's site that I enjoyed listening to, I wouldn't go out and buy them.

  10. I had never heard anything by Pearl Jam before but I do know it is #3 granddaughter's favourite group. She actually flew to the US from Perth a few years ago to attend several of their concerts. She is now, of course, living permanently in the US with her partner.

  11. Pardon me, I've been seranading COPPERWITCH and her MOTHER for many moons now. Copper likes romance songs. Her mother is gritty. A real musician will play all styles, everything from heavy metal to Mozart. Right now I'm playing "Shaking all over", just for you. It could become our wedding song.

    -Robert.
    Unsavoury character. National disgrace.

  12. Hi River,

An excellent choice. I love Pearl Jam.

  13. Jac; it's a great song.

Barbara; it doesn't get airplay anymore.

whiteangel; I don't like a lot of their stuff, pretty much just this one song.

Mimsie; from Perth to the US is a long way to go for a concert. I don't even go to local ones!

R.H. I'm not a real musician, all you'll get here is songs that I like.

klahanie; thank you, I just like this one song of theirs.
