Whimsical Wednesday # 190

Welcome back to Whimsical Wednesday!

The day for your googled giggle that gets you over the hump that is Wednesday and sliding down into the weekend.

today's is more awesome than giggle, found at the cake wrecks site.

Did you hear about the big food fight? First the peas snapped at the celery, which stalked off. Then the potatoes made eyes at the onions, which made everyone cry. And though the carrots rooted for peace, in the end, they all decided to just sit'n'stew.

Awesome and funny, right?
The whole thing is cake!

  1. Some people are soooo clever. I am pretty certain that eating a piece of cake that looked like an onion would mess with my mind though....

  2. Gee! I'd not heard about that! Did Casser play a role in it? Who threw the first punch? I bet they were spitting chips!

I love the photo...bright and cheerful.

  3. John M; welcome to drifting. i love the cake wrecks site.

fishducky; cute and clever. Awesome cake decorating skills.

Elephant's Child; my daughter and grand daughter are pretty good with cake decorating too. When T was 12 a neighbour friend would pay her to make her kids birthday cakes.
Onion styled cake wouldn't bother me as long as someone else did the cutting. I just don't want to be the one to ruin the masterpiece.

Have you seen Heston Blumenthal's TV shows - Heston's Feasts?
He makes the most amazing things like edible cutlery, candles, napkins etc.
Here's a link (copy and paste) to a short video clip of his medieval feast -

  7. I groaned... but it didn't stop me admiring the brilliant cake creation. Having done cakes in the past, I've a good idea just how much work that took!

  8. Merle; can you believe that is cake?? The whole thing-chopping board, wooden spoon, salt and pepper shakers-all cake.

Vicki; no I have seen any of that; I have seen some of his recipes and the grocery line he produces for Coles, all too fancy for me.

Jacquelineand; i don't do fancy cakes, I just smear on some icing or leave them plain; so how many hours would that be? a day? Two? A week?

  9. Yep, that will do it!! That cake is unbelievable but you'd never want to spoil it by cutting it.

  10. Mimsie; I'd cut it, but I'd take a photo first. After all, what good is cake if you can't eat it?
