Musical Monday # 108

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Dragon

Young Years

I love this!

    1. Grace; I do like rock, but not all of it. There are some songs I can't stand.

  2. And in 1989 when it came out, I was young(ish).

  3. I was never a great fan of Dragon...could take them or leave them...individual tastes and choices, of course.

    2. That is true, River...and I'm so glad it does. The world is pretty rocky at present so perhaps we need more of it...individual tastes and likes. :)

    2. Merle; those young years were great weren't they? I never hear this on radio anymore, so I'm glad I have it on my playlists.

    1. Margaret-whiteangel; I thought you would have heard of Dragon, they have a fair bit of airplay. I had teenagers back then, so our radio and tape players were on almost all the time and of course they all stayed up to watch Rage each weekend.

  7. Margaret above is even worse at pop music than I am. They look older in this clip than I remember them. Maybe it was late in their careers.

    1. Andrew; this is from 1989 which is when I first heard them via my kids who were then aged 9 to 17. I'll have to look up some of their earlier songs.

  8. I really like this but I have a Question Of The Week each Monday. Maybe I could make mine Music Tuesday.

  9. Granny Annie; you can choose any day of the week. I do Mondays because the original meme (by Delores who no longer blogs) was on Mondays and I like the alliteration.

  10. Ahhh I remember the "Rain" song and then since I lived in the US from about 83 on, I thought it was a "just me" thing and forgot about the band. Like no one has even heard of Icehouse here. :)

  12. I recall Dragon back in 72 this NZ group were playing down in Woollongong NSW OZ.
    'April Sun in Cuba'.
On a few occasions I have recalled when with friends when that song is played, odd to say that I was serving on HMS Ceylon in 1958 and on our way back from Halifax we called into Guantanamo Bay Cuba on the 21st April then to the UK. Also similar in 65 On HMS Verylam when calling into G-Bay from Charlestown USA - then on to UK, sort of unforgetable to not remind myself that we were in Hamilton Bermuda when Nat King Cole passed away Feb 14 65. When that song is played friends look at me as if to say " yes mate you have already told us all about it".

  13. Surely the dragon originals must be well into their sixties, the guy in the Pic has youthful looks.
