Musical Monday # 109

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Jimmy Barnes

    1. S.J.Qualls; most of my music is stuff that gets me moving, even if it's just toe tapping.

  2. I can't imagine Jimmy Barnes ever slowing down. Which is lovely. He is doing exactly the right 'job' for him.

    1. Elephant's Child; He's a 'rock till you drop' kind of performer.

    1. Susan Kane; The guitarist is very god, not sure it was Jimmy playing though.

  4. It's a wonder Barnsey has any voice left...but he has. He's starting a limited tour in August - seven concerts in all!

Friends of mine were absolutely insane about him and went to his concert when he performed in Cairns at the time, back in 1988/89. They were over-the-moon after seeing him. I've never matched the enthusiasm they had for Jimmy, but he certainly is an icon in the Aussie music world. It wouldn't seem the same without Barnsey in it. "Khe San" and "Flame Trees" have almost become anthems...and rightly so...as has "Working Class Man".

There is no denying Cold Chisel...and Barnsey on his own have put out lots of good, memorable material.

    1. Lee; another tour? I wish I had that kind of energy. The kind that comes from doing something you love. I'm not sure I have any of Cold Chisel without JB, I did once have Tucker's Daughter by Ian Moss on one of my older playlists. It might still be there.

  5. Awesome! Takes me back.

My son came home last night with the news that he will be touring Queensland with a popular upcoming country star who has just come back from Nashville in the US.
And later in the year, he'll be mixing it with Keith Urban!
So proud of my drummer boy :)

Your drummer boy is a lucky man to be touring in such great company :)
