Musical Monday # 126

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Bill Haley and the Comets

Rock Around the Clock

Who doesn't love this and bop around when it plays on the radio?

  1. When I think of 50's rock and roll, this song always comes up.

  2. Although one of the 'classics' it's not one of my favorites and I have no idea why.

  4. I was 11 when this came out...and we loved it then when we were little kids...and we still danced to it years later when started going to the dances and record hops. It was impossible not to want to get up and let our feet and bodies swing to the beat! :)

Good stuff!! The old movies were good fun, too!

    1. Lee; I remember mum and Dad taking us to the soccer club on their dance nights and my brother and I would rock to this and others, we were 3 and 5. Growing up though I never went to dances and didn't even know about record hops.

    1. Cathy; I still dance to it, if you can call what I do dancing, but it's moving to music and I have fun even though there's really not enough room here.
Nice to know you dance too.

    1. Margaret-whiteangel; doesn't it? If only the body would co-operate. Still, a bit of bopping around is better than nothing.

  9. It was all about Dick Clark and American Bandstand to me. In front of the the television with all the kids on the show that's where I learned to dance. Loved the 50's.

    1. Cheryl; me too, 50s and 60s and the 80s were great too. I don't remember much from the 70s, too busy with small children. Of course there was ABBA then and the kids loved their music.
