Musical Monday #129

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Conway Twitty

It's Only Make Believe

    1. Elephant's Child; it's not one I listen to often, but now and again is just right.

  4. Ahh...the wonderful Conway Twitty. He was one of my late brother's favourites. My brother saw him in concert when he was still in this early rock and roll stage of his career, before Twitty swung over to country music...where he really made his name.

Thanks for posting this one. We used to have the 45 record back when it first came out. I like Conway Twitty. Another artist who passed away too young. He was only 59 when he died.

    1. Lee; I didn't know Conway Twitty had done other music, I thought country was his only genre. 59 is way too young to die.

  5. He sounds rather like Elvis, who I think also recorded the song.

    1. Hi Andrew...the song was written by Conway Twitty and his drummer, Jack Nance back in 1958. Apparently Elvis performed it often in his live shows, but from what I can gather he never actually made a recording of the song.

    2. Andrew; he does sound like Elvis, but like Lee says, Elvis did not make a recording of this one.

  8. I love this. I loved it years ago. I had forgotten about it. Conway Twitty was a favorite of mine because I lived in a Conway Twitty Mobile Home. LOL

    1. Granny Annie; Conway Twitty Mobile Home? Is that a brand name of a particular style of mobile homes or were the inside walls plastered with posters of Conway Twitty with his music being played daily?
