Musical Monday # 132

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Nat King Cole

Ramblin' Rose
from way back in 1962 when I was ten. Or 9 depending on which end of the year we're talking about.

This is the final Musical Monday for this year, I hope you've enjoyed my selections.
You have probably noticed I didn't do any Christmas music this month, that's because I couldn't decide which songs to use.

    1. Elephant's Child; I'm cool. It's been raining this morning, so now it's getting humid which is less comfortable, but I'm inside with the air conditioner and a fan going to stir the air a bit now and again.

  3. Nat King Cole was a favourite in our household, particularly of my mother and my brother. Mum played all his songs on the piano and my brother when he bought his first little record player bought the records. "Stardust" was (and still is with me) an all-time favourite. Coles' daughter, Natalie passed away in 2016.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with your family, River. All over Red Rover for another year! :)

    1. Lee; I'm glad Christmas is over, there was a little inter-family stress this year, and things got sort of smoothed over, but two people need to talk more.
We didn't hear a lot of Nat King Cole, mostly just what came on the radio, he was before our record player days.

    2. I'm glad Christmas is over for another year, too, River...it all gets a bit much. So much pressure and stress put on one day...it's all so silly, really.

  4. Merry Christmas and hope you are having a good Boxing Day so far....that's a great song, haven't heard it for years.

    1. Margaret-whiteangel; Christmas was good, but this morning I woke up with tonsillitis, so Boxing Day is a bust.
It's a lovely easy listening song.

Tonsillitis is all cleared up. All hail the power of garlic!

  7. A great singer and according to a documentary I watched, a real gentleman but still made to use the back entrance wherever he performed.

    1. JahTeh; that back entrance thing really gets my goat. Always has, always will.

    1. Dora; I didn't check to see what year it came out, but I'm older than you, so it was a very long time ago.

  9. You and I are the same age give or take a few months, I guess. I remember Nat King Cole but it had been a long time since I had heard one of his songs.

    1. Cheryl; we are close in age, but I don't remember which is the older and it doesn't matter anyway. I heard Nat King Cole on one of my DVD movies recently which prompted me to search for songs. He has a great voice.
