Musical Monday # 157

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: The Ted Mulry Gang

  5. A fun old song. I've not heard it for a while.

It's a song that I grew up with - listening to it on the radio, and to my mother playing it on the piano...long before Ted Mulry's 1976 version.

The song was first recorded back in 1917...(I wasn't around then)! I'm getting old, but not that old...not yet! :)

Happy start to the week, River. :)

    1. Lee; I knew it had been recorded earlier but didn't know as far back as 1917. I haven't heard any other versions and don't want to. This is the one I like.

    2. Fats Domino did it, River...so too Dean Martin, Ella Fiztzgerald, among many others. I like the original dixieland sound of the earlier versions. :)

  8. I loved that song but for some reason I never would have thought of a rock band singing it. Still it gets me moving:-)
