Musical Monday #170

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Elvis Presley

Follow That Dream

and the lyrics:

sing along, let's all follow our dreams ๐Ÿ˜Ž

    1. Sharon; not so long for me, it was played on my easy listening station just yesterday. And of course I have the movie of the same name.

  2. I'm going to say the same as Sharon ... it has been ages since I heard that one too!
He looks so young in the video, but then I guess he was!

Happy Monday, and good wishes for the week ahead.

    All the best Jan

  4. Love Elvis but it's been a long time since I heard this song. I think the last time was over a decade ago back in North Carolina. Had an old soda and ice-cream shop called 'Melamoose' and they played all sorts of classics.

    1. Robert Bennett; I'd love to see a real old fashioned soda and ice-cream shop. with a jukebox of course.

  6. I don't think I've heard that one before. Pretty unusual, for an Elvis song. You'd think I would have been exposed to it by now.

    1. Val; it is an old one, from the movie of the same name. Possibly not released as a single, only available on the movie soundtrack. I hear it sometimes on my easy listening radio station.

  9. Although the Elvis movies were a lot of light-hearted fun, and I enjoyed them, I wish he had also followed the path of making and taking on more serious roles in his movie career; but Colonel Parker operated and controlled those strings.

Elvis was a good dramatic actor when allowed to do so...as he showed in "King Creole"....(the movie made from the excellent book "A Stone for Danny Fisher" written by Harold Robbins. It was one of Robbins' earlier books...before he jumped on the "glossy" bandwagon pumping out. It was a serious, gritty story...both book and movie were very good.

Streisand originally wanted him (as well as considering Marlon Brando and Neil Diamond) to play opposite her in the third remake of "A Star Is Born";...the role eventually went to Kris Kristofferson. (I love that movie!)

    Happy Monday, River. :)

    1. Lee; colonel Parker saw nothing in Elvis but $$$$ which is a shame, because Elvis may have gone a long way in movies. I've never seen A Star is Born and probably won't as I don't like Barbra Streisand.
King creole was on TV recently, but I didn't like it. It may be one of those movies where you have to be in the right mood to watch it.

  10. Thank you for all the recent posts of Elvis songs. I loved him so much. Am still mad at him for letting fortune and celebrity kill him.
