ALERT! ALERT! (Australia only)

Channel 9 news tonight: Nationwide recall of sabotaged strawberries from a farm in Queensland, two brand names that I didn't catch, but from the one farm.

In Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, punnets of strawberries have been found to have sewing needles deliberately place within the berries.

One man is hospitalised after swallowing a needle.

Tell everyone you know who buys strawberries.

None have been found here in South Australia, but I sure as heck won't be buying any strawberries from Queensland, and just to be safe, not from anywhere else either for a while.

  2. We had just bought strawberries when I saw that story. Fortunately none were affected. That is a truly rotten way to take your vengeance on your employer (they are pretty certain it was a disgruntled employee).

    1. Elephant's Child; it seems to always be a disgruntled employee. When I start buying strawberries again, I'll be slicing them up, just in case.

  3. Wow, that is so sick. Hopefully the story does get out and no one else gets hurt. You are doing your part.
We have that problem here in the states around Halloween when things are put in children's candy. Just don't understand.

  5. One thing i will never understand is how some people can choose to do such wicked things. Do they want to be remembered as evil?
