One of those tossed in was a university academic and he drowned -a surprise to me, because I thought academics could float on anything.R.H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04639593801088008224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664393407924733681.post-45425291974830519542012-07-30T05:45:58.524+09:302012-07-30T05:45:58.524+09:30Wow, thanks for the tour! I do know that the lake section is man made, so the river no longer runs as freely as it did originally and because of this there is a lot of the toxic algae bloom on a fairly regular basis.

gaby@727m2; there's more activity on the river in the summer months, I'm not sure the paddle boats are used at all during the winter, but the Popeye runs for most of the year and it's quite popular with people doing the full cruise then getting off at the zoo.

EC; I haven't fully taken over the hosting of Sunday Selections, there's no link list for others to add their names to, I'm just continuing with the photo idea. I think it's a nice way to show off bits of my city as well as random photos that I snap here and there.Riverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14794655013673748992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664393407924733681.post-21709971297789181652012-07-29T08:42:48.170+09:302012-07-29T08:42:48.170+09:30I loved this - thank you so much. I've only ever been to SA once, it was a relatively short trip and I didn't get to explore the city and surrounds very much. The river looks like it offers up some nice activities... the bridge is handsome and I'm off to see if I can investigate what Andrew means about the Torrens having some unfortunate secrets and memories - very intriguing!Gabyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13857464135537822205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2664393407924733681.post-16404770239370212212012-07-29T06:30:29.515+09:302012-07-29T06:30:29.515+09:30The bridge is very handsome indeed.
