Sunday Selections # 68

You all know the usual blurb by now, so I'll skip that bit because I've got stuff in the oven.....

But look!! I remembered to put up the button Kim made for us!
And the important part is to link back to Kim at Frog Ponds Rock.

This weeks photo's are of a bird skeleton that I found in one of the garden beds here while wandering around them last Easter.

head and neck

feet and feathers, a few ribs

part of the shoulders and wing I think

a close up of the beak.

I'm positive a cat didn't kill this bird as a cat would have eaten the whole thing apart from beak and claws, so I wondered briefly how the bird had died.
Then I moved on and found something happier to look at.....

these cute little welcoming frogs.

  1. Kim is going to love your bird skeleton. I think you were right about it not be killed by a cat. Old age?

The welcoming frogs are also nice - and another link to Kim.

    I also loved this. Thanks.

  2. I'd say the bird was killed by another flying predator and the bones picked clean by mother natures critters. My caption for the frog photo is "A Stack Of Freddo Frogs" :-).

  3. EC; I thought of Kim as soon as I saw the skeleton and the frogs. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to use them as a sunday Selections post.

Windsmoke; I thought of Freddo too.
    And Kermit.

  4. Oh River, I LOVE that bird skeleton. What a great set of photos. THANKYOU

  5. Kim; feel free to use them in your work if you want to.

  6. Oh the bird made me sad. But I love frogs... so I'm much happier now. :)

  7. Ick on the bird skeletons but I LOVE the frogs. Over here if we find a bird laying dead we have to notify the authorities in case it was killed by a deadly virus spread by mosquitoes.

  8. my boys bring me skeletons like this from the woods sometimes..and they sit around in a circle quietly looking at it and imagining all kinds of creatures lurking in the woods....your pictures are great!
I am your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.

  9. carmen; welcome to drifting. I imagine the bird had a happy life, so its death doesn't disturb me greatly.

Delores; The frogs are very cute aren't they? So the authorities there have to investigate every bird death? I find that sad.

momto8blog; welcome to drifting. Thanks for the pictures compliment.
