Wednesday's Words on a Friday

On Wednesdays , Delores, from Under The Porch Light, has a meme which she calls “Words for Wednesday”. She puts up a selection of six words which we then use in a short story, or a poem. I’m hopeless at poetry so I always do a story. It’s a fun challenge…why not join in? This week's words are: 1. petulant 2. raging 3. pigpen 4. unidentified 5. bucket 6. ephemeral we also have... "indignant night when first the light of dawn doth break" , which sounds rather Shakespearean to me. I'll put that on the back burner for now. Here is my story: Christy's face wore a petulant expression as she carried the bucket of sloppy scraps to the pigpen . Just last week there'd been a raging fight with Mum about always being the one to do this job. Why couldn't Sandy or Bob take a turn? They were big enough to carry a bucket now, they were eight and nine years old for gosh sakes!  Christy slowed as she passed Mum...

Sunday Selections #82

Image
Welcome back to Sunday Selections! Begun by Kim, of Frog Ponds Rock, as a weekly meme to show off all your unseen photos, now continued by me, but without the linky list thingy. This week I show you two sides of July -early August in Adelaide, Australia. Rainy skies,   Rainbows, oh look! another rainbow! Mid to late July sees many of our different Wattles beginning to bloom. This pale lemon scented wattle is one of my favourites. The scent is very delicate, almost unnoticeable, until you bring the bloom right up to your nose. More of our wattles are this lovely yellow colour. Many of them come in this little puff-ball style. In varying shades of yellows and golds.

Sunday Selections #7

Image
Sunday Selections is in week #7 already! My, how time flies.... Sunday Selections comes to us via Kim at Frog Ponds Rock , who devised this clever way of having us look through our unpublished photo files to find images we can post on a Sunday. My theme this week is rainbows. A rainbow of T-shirts. A rainbow of pencils. A rainbow of summer sleepwear. Circular rainbow. No beginning, no end. No pot of gold. *sigh* couldn't we all use one of those right now. I even found a rainbow on my lounge room curtain. Rainbows are one of my favourite things. Want to join in the fun? Simply select a previously unpublished photo (or a few) , post them under the Sunday Selections title, then go over to Kim's and add your name to the link. So very easy. If I can do it, anyone can.
