what I saw from my front porch yesterday

The famous Roulettes, doing their thing before the Jet does his show, right before the main race of our Clipsal 500 car show. I got these by zooming in as much as I could, then listening carefully to determine which direction they'd be showing from. Luckily, I live in a quiet street. My neighbour-across-the-driveway, who has about a zillion cameras, took photos so close you could see the pilots inside the cockpits. Then it was time for the jet, so I came inside, shut the door and put my earplugs in. That plane is too loud for me!

Welcome back to Sunday Selections. A weekly meme created to show off photos that have been languishing in your  (my *  ) files. This week I bring you four random choices, instead of a theme like I usually go with. The Roulettes from several years ago. Peeling tree bark. The sort of work my brother does. He's a construction engineer. Big storage tanks, bridges over gorges, freeways, cross-country water pipelines, he's there. Ducklings by the water lily pond in the Botanic Gardens. (  * I seem to be the only one left doing Sunday Selections. Is it because I opted to not have the linky thingy?)

(Well, maybe that police car over there---->ha ha.) The Amber Light. For slowing down, preparing to stop. The Green Light. Okay, okay, it's not a traffic stopper, but let's not quibble over technicalities. The Roulettes, doing one of their flyover routines during our annual Clipsal 500 car race. These aerial acrobatics are very definitely traffic stoppers. Everybody I know stops to watch when these boys get going.
