Wednesday's Words on a Friday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by ME and can be found here
This week's words/prompts are:
1.pudding 2.letters 3.calculations 4.laundry 5.candlesticks 6.system
Here is my story:
Gordon settled back in his seat while unobtrusively making sure everyone was on board and in their assigned seats, it was easier to keep track if people didn't swap seats along the way. One of the many jobs in his past had been as bodyguard at an elite boarding school where the students were the children of millionaires and billionaires. Some of them were right little snots, but most were okay. He was always chosen to ride the bus when a class took the kids on an outing.
Before the school job, he had been a pilot for a private jet, taking people wherever they wanted to go at a moment's notice. One of his favourite regular trips was taking a casino boss (who was also a money launderer) to the UK, the boss had a liking for Yorkshire pudding and claimed the best was only available at a certain pub eatery somewhere in Yorkshire.
Gordon had learned to never question the whims of the people who hired him and consequently dined at many "fabulous little places, darling" as Rosalind Carruthers would say. Her particular fabulous little place was a street in Tuscany where pizza was sold by the slice, and she would eat her way along the street, then spend weeks at a time at one spa or another to drop the pounds put on by the pizza.
Gordon chuckled at the memory, if that woman had a spare pound anywhere, then he himself was King Midas! Cassie heard the little chuckle and leaned in. "I notice Nurse Evelyn is not with us today, I was hoping she could take me down to the damp sand to make sandcastles, I have my little dolls with me and all the gear to make the castles."
Gordon leaned over as she showed the contents of the large cotton bag, there were indeed four little redheaded dolls and an array of plastic shapes to construct castles with. "I have been writing letters to my youngest great grand-daughter," Cassie said,"telling her about the things the redheads like to do." "I can help you to the damp sand," said Gordon, "but I also want to keep an eye on everyone else, Alan in particular."
As if hearing his name, Alan spoke up,"by my calculations we should already be at the beach, so where is the water and why are we so slow to get there?" "We stopped for a toilet break," said Denise, "don't you remember?" "Well, fiddlesticks!" grumped Alan. "What candlesticks?" said Marjorie, comng down out of her cloud. "Why have we brought candesticks?"
"No one has brought any candlesticks," said Sally, "you have just misheard something." Marjorie mumbled a few words that meant nothing to anybody before blurting out, "there should be a better system!" "For sorting out what's inside her head." whispered Alan.
Linda história de Gordon! Muito criativa e cheia de detalhes! Adorei! Beijos, chica
