Sunday Selections # 815

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

Charlotte's colour of the month is: Dusty Mauve

Got your cup of tea/coffee ready? Here we go:

Borrowed this image from pictures of a house for sale, notice there are ten chairs? I'd be wanting a larger table to eliminate elbow bashing.

Walking along Wakefield Street in the city recently I saw this beautiful old building,

with very lovely tiled steps and verandah, but shamefully I did not notice what the building is for or even if it had a name.

Back at my own (shared) driveway walking towards home I noticed these emergency vehicles, two regular sized Ambulances and the smaller vehicle, and once I passed those, I saw a police car as well. I heard later someone had died, the police were there to make sure there were no suspicious circumstances, like murder perhaps. There weren't.

Moving on: at my favourite Supermarket, "Foodland" there is a very long closed in and iced section devoted to fresh fish; with the first picture being fillets

Front row: Yellow-eyed Mullet; New Zealand Ling Fish; King Salmon; Boar Fish
Middle row: New Zealand Snapper; Flake; Mulloway;
Back row: Tuna Steaks; Catfish; Tommy Ruff

Next Section is whole fish:

Rainbow Trout; Blue Swimmer Crabs; Silver Whiting; Whole Snook; Tommy Ruff

Garfish; Yellowtail Mackerel; Salmon Trout; Baby Barramundi; Flounder; Silver Trevally

And these are only about a third of the entire section. Another section has whole raw prawns, shell on, and raw prawn meat without the shells, another has cooked prawns etc

Back in my shared driveway (110 flats here) see all the yellow on the surface?

look a little closer, no it isn't thrown paint (ha ha)

it is the windblown pollen from all the flowering trees, this is part of what is causing me so much hayfever/asthma grief. Thank goodness the season is almost over.

in a side street is this fence with greenery from one end to the other,

it's honeysuckle! I love this as much as the bees do and it doesn't bother me at all, it is sweet but not "heady"

just around the corner and down a bit I found these red amaryllis blooming, and more of them lining that driveway. The black is one of the support poles for the shiny fencing wires which you can see one of above the blooms

These are the clouds that gathered while I was shopping and the rain came down right after I had stepped inside.

Finishing today with this month's Calendar page:

and the drawing on the numbered squares:

what does your Calendar look like?
