Wednesday's Words on a Friday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by Cindi and can be found here.
This week's words/prompts are:
"The year is 2030. The first astronauts have landed on Mars. In a cave they find a single human skeleton and fifteen words written on a wall. What are the words?"
Here are my words:
You were right Mum. Rocket fuel in the speedboat was a bad idea. Sorry, Ben.
and another option:
All alone here. Ship beyond repair. No communication with Earth. Still looking for water. Week 8.

The first is particularly innovative - and made me smile.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; thank you. I do like to make people smile :)
DeleteThe rocket fuel one! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteSandi; glad I could make you laugh. wonder how many other young men might have thought about trying this, and hope they don't.
DeleteWell done!
ReplyDeletemessymimi; thank you:)
DeleteI cracked up over your first one, River.
ReplyDeleteIt appears the days didn't go far into the alphabet in your second!
Take care. :)
Lee; I like the first one myself :)
DeleteThe second is sadder, people don't last long without water and Mars doesn't have any that's easily found.
I am still wondering about moon cycle of moon...
ReplyDeleteDora; I'm not sure what you mean, this is about Mars.
DeleteSo very well done with 2!!!
ReplyDeleteXO
WWW
WWW; thank you very much :)
DeleteFunny how they both have the same tragic ending, yet the first one doesn't seem sad!
ReplyDeleteVal; there's something I hadn't realised. Perhaps because the first one also made you laugh.
DeleteThe first was really funny and the second made me feel lonely for that poor guy.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; I'm sorry for him too, it's a sad thing to die lonely.
Delete"We managed to cure cancer in 1609 but you did not show up in time."
ReplyDeleteSorry. Just a bad moment here. I like your first one :-)
Iris Flavia; I like that :)
DeletePrefer the first one , smiling :)
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; it is funny imagining a speedboat rocketing through space.
DeleteThe first option is amusing. The second had me wondering if the person died after 8 days on mars - it seems a short time to me.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
lissa; I agree it is a very short time and I should have made it longer. I'll change it later.
