Words for Wednesday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by River and can be found here
This week's words/prompts are:
1.conviviality 2.adoration 3.willpower
4.mellow 5.gentle 6.guitar
Have fun, don't use all the words if you can't,there's no pressure here.
My story will appear on this blog on Friday as always, unless I can't write one...
Thanks for the different words River, I hope I can find some time and write some story!!
ReplyDeleteWe are waiting for your story on Friday, if you can write and if you can't everything is OK!
Have a beautiful day!
Katerina's Blog; thank you, I hope you can find some time to write.
DeleteWe were a conviviality of four back in the day in Hildesheim, where I studied. We had an adoration for music and my flatmate mJ asked if we want to learn to play the guitar.
ReplyDeleteI went to a professional music store and in a gentle way asked for a guitar. I had willpower but the sadly dumb lady sold me one for adults. I am an adult, but a small one and could not reach the "F".
I gave the guitar away, it was of no use... So much for a real music store...
Iris; but you could have asked instead for a small guitar when buying one? I couldn't reach many of the strings when I tried to learn, I have small hands and short fingers. Also I have no patience.
DeleteA well writen story, Iris Flavia, I am sorry it never worked out. Have you thought about trying ukulele? It's a great instrument and better for small hands.
DeleteRiver, I didn´t try it in the shop, I just bought... I was too young... I trusted " a professional".
Deletemessymimi, thank you. The neighbors maybe were quite happy we went "quiet", LOL....
It's a shame when you don't get any advice from the sales people.
DeleteIris Flavia: Considero que s'ha de prescindir d'aquest venedor. ;-)
DeleteSalutacions!
Moltes gràcies!
ReplyDeleteEsperaré la teva història.
sa lluna; thank you.
DeleteThank you for doing the words this month! My post will be over here when it goes live.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; I meant to put up an announcement earlier so more people would know.
DeleteI've tried this week, River . . . that's all I can say!
ReplyDeleteNow that the four of them were free to travel during the daylight hours, they were making better time than they previously had. On the second day, they could see a village in the distance, and the smell of food being prepared was reaching them occasionally on the breeze.
ReplyDeleteNaturally, Eldrin was the first to remark on the scent in the air. "Oh, my goodness, I can't believe how much I've missed real cooking. I hope they invite us to stay a night. No offense, Lyri, but purple beauty berries and weeds just don't fill me up like a good rabbit roast does."
Lyri side-eyed him, "Umph. See if I try to cook for you again." When she had been born, the fairies had given her the gift of conviviality which had served her well as she got older. Others in their forest community, not just Kael and Thalion, had developed an adoration for her, and whether she knew it or not, she'd often been protected from harm by the forest animals. It was taking Kael a great deal of willpower on this journey to not speak of his feelings for her because he could clearly see that Lyri and Thal cared deeply for each other although neither of them showed it in front of him or Eldrin. It was as it should be, and the change in Kael kept him from speaking out and risking his newfound friendship with both of them.
The closer they got to the village, the more they could hear the mellow, gentle sounds of a guitar. "Perhaps it is a celebration?" Lyri remarked. "It would be nice for one night to relax and dance, don't you think, Thal?"
"Hmmm. Perhaps. We will have to see what kind of a reception we get from them when we arrive. These are unfamiliar woods, and we don't know if they are wood elves who would welcome us or something else. I think it would be wise to observe from a distance before we just waltz into their village." Vondran's warning to him that not everything in the forest was friendly to wood elves was still on the back of his mind.
Meeting up with anyone on this journey could be a danger. I hope they do stop and proceed with caution.
DeleteUn viatge que sembla perillós.
DeleteI'm a bit late but here's the link to my offering - Fiction: Dinner on a cloud.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been participating but I'm glad to get back to it. Thanks for the short list of prompts, I always find less prompts is less daunting.
Have a lovely day.
Hi River and Janice - here's mine:
ReplyDeleteHis guitar playing was enticing, even mellow … and I could see adoration appearing on her face … however I was worried about that gentle soul being abused by the power of his will – he was known around the area for scamming people. The conviviality the community had was becoming divided by this chap's entrance into their world. Listener beware …
Thanks Janice – I'll be back to read the others – cheers Hilary
Un text molt interessant. ;-)
DeleteHa fet un bon ús de les paraules.
Salutacions.
Here is mine:
