Words for Wednesday
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.
The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.
If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by Hilary Melton-Butcher and can be found right here on this blog.
This week's words/prompts are:
1.sculpture 2.amendment 3.timeline 4.bog 5.castle
and/or:
1.sword 2.crew 3.buffalo 4.forest 5.variation
use either list or both, or mix and match, just have fun.
Charlotte's colour of the month is:
Razzamatazz Pink
My own story will hopefully appear on this blog on Friday 5th.

waiting to read what you write. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteDVArtist; I shall be puzzling over these words all day.

beijos, tudo de bom,chica
chica; I shall read right away.
DeleteI don’t know where this silly bit came from, but mine will be in the usual place. Your blog still won’t let me put in a link.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; I have no idea about links and what blogger gets up to. I'll come and read your story a bit later.
DeleteInteresting words to ponder over, R.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; they are interesting and my brain has a sentence or two...
DeleteAs always... true story.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I sat in front of the castle. The timeline goes back to the year 1268.
It was a show or story about Robber knight Wulfardus and his kind daughter Jutta. They had a lot of swords.
While her father robbed travelers, Jutta helped the poor and sick. As punishment for their sinful behavior, the so-called Hühn'sche Burg (Chicken Castle) sank into the earth during a feast in the Silberhohl (now a sinkhole nature reserve - I went through there!!!! Totally frightened).
And guess what.
I was there without my parents or friends and the bog by my foot suddenly moved!!!! I was so shocked I did not run away - other parents took care of me. I was maybe 5 years old.
The "bog" was a child playing a role. Kind of a silent sculpture for at least 15 minutes!!! What a crew, what a show - all in the dark of course!
From excitement the amendment went to fear! Razzamatazz Pink was right in front of my eyes!
Sadly years ago I saw a variation. Lots of technical stuff that took away the magic of the 1970s...
This event, the Sehusafest, takes place every first weekend of September in my old hometown Seesen at the biggest history festival of Northern Germany.
You can YouTube it but it´s not really worth it, the saga. No magic left...
Looking forward to yours!
Oh, P.S. here is a link to text and an photo... it really pink see here!
DeleteIris; I followed the link and it does look very interesting. Jutta is my sister's name and she too is kind-hearted. Maybe she was named for the original?
DeleteNow that is interesting! If this is the case tell her to be careful when she walks over water. "Our" Jutta in the dark and the artificial fog missed the path and fell once. Plumps, right into the little pond. Not so magical!
DeleteIris; my sister never goes out after dark, she is 77 and also has a water phobia, never learned to swim.
DeleteYes, so sad. I try to stay inside when it´s dark, too. Or chose paths where there are many people. The pond is but knee-deep. If we still had the 1970´s I´d invite you and your Sister for the show! Jutta revived all the bogs that were real "real" children.
DeleteThese days... LOUD. LIGHTS. Awful, all magic gone. Modern is not always better...
The story sounds fascinating, I'm sorry they've ruined it.
DeleteRazzamatazz. Fanastic word! Happy Writing.
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Whisk; Razzamatazz is a great word, right up there with Serendipity.
Delete❤️
DeleteNothing from me this week but I've played with the prompts. Amendment is a word I never thought to use.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
lissa; inspiration doesn't always strike just because we want it to.
