Searching through folders of my printed stories

for any with mistakes that need editing (ie-reprinting), I found this and think it deserves a reprint: "books. reading. writing. the words are on the pages, visual, tactile. descriptions, emotions, dramas, happiness, passion. sublime blissfulness; plummeting into despair. the wanting, the needing of a certain someone, without whom you will be forever empty. actions taken; roads not travelled. stories woven into tales of unexpected happenings. each open to personal interpretation. new beginnings, sad endings, happy endings. confrontations, welcomed or not. challenging adversities; drifting on seas of contentment, gazing into the eyes of a newborn. days, nights, or both, when that newborn will cry as if heartbroken and you won't know why, your own eyes will spill with tears, your own heart will break, until finally you both sleep; the deep sleep of exhaustion from wich both of you will wake refreshed and ready to start again. there are words of lives lived; real or imagined? fi...

Wednesday's Words on a Friday

The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1.klutz  2.cream cheese  3.twilight  4.buzzing  5.trouble  6.dominoes and/or: her/his/my house has many rooms, some are less immaculate than others Charlotte's colour of the month is Vivid Tangerine for September Here is my story: The day of the Beach Trip had finally arrived, as with Christmas for a young child, it had seemed to take forever, but now the "Twilighters" were readying themselves to be helped into the b...

These two adorable newborns, weighing only 4 pounds and fitting between my hand and elbow easily, (truly, they were doll-sized), are now four years old and off to kindy! where did those four years go?? they just flew away. Matching unicorn backpacks,  and shoes! They're not used to keeping shoes on all day. They love running around with bare feet.

Sunday Selections #807

Image
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.  A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.  Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. Charlotte's colour of the month for September is Vivid Tangerine The first wattle trees are blooming, always a sign that spring is almost here at my last visit to the twins they picked a few flowers from their garden for me to bring home, I put them in water as soon as I got home and they lasted quite a while, the lighter yellow one a full week after the other two died. That decorative pumpkin on the right fits Charlotte's ...

Musical Monday

No prizes for guessing who I am featuring today: Dolly Parton of course! the lyrics to one of her best songs: Coat of Many Colours. (this image is NOT a video) but this one is and it said this was the first ever performance of the song. I hope it plays. There is a movie available too, though I don't yet have a copy I think I would like to have a Coat of Many Colours, though I usually wear much more subdued clothing.

Shrubs in the foreground, waves in the background, heavy machinery on the right. magpies in her backyard, caught by the motion detector camera heavy trucks in my street some time back, there didn't seem to be any work going on, perhaps they we...

A True Legend Has left us...

ðŸ˜¢ðŸ˜¢ Dolly Parton has died, aged 80, just six years older than me, this woman did so very much in her time on this earth and will never be forgotten. I remember her on The Muppet Show talking with "Miss Piggy" (photo borrowed from Google Images, thank you to whoever put this there.) and in the movie "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" with Burt Reynolds. It's a comedy and I laugh so much everytime I watch it. Ignore the vertical green line, this is my own DVD copy of the movie which I will watch again tonight. Other movies include Steel Magnolias,  Wild Texas Wind,  9 to 5, Rhinestone, with Sylvester Stallone, Unlikely Angel, A Smoky Mountain Christmas and more, plus appearances in several Television series too. Dolly supported many charities and even started one herself: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a free book-gifting program which has branches in many countries including Australia. You can find it online to learn more about it. I believe she sta...
