Sunday Selections # 814
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.
I do like construction
someone is getting a new place to live (not me 😢)
Not the same house, this is brother's new house, when he moved in the washing line had been installed within the garage area, inconvenient for him,
so he moved it to the back of the house,
constructed a little walking path,
and has a little BBQ area too.
A few weeks ago, the weather people told us things were fining up and we'd be getting more sunshine, so out I went with my secateurs to clip off the ivy that grows onto the lines from the next door property
took about an hour of stretching up to grab the stems and pull them down to snip off then unwind the tendrils from the "Good Old Aussie Hills Hoist" rotary clothesline. There are two of these out there, so I did both., and cleared the bits hanging on the fence as well.
Next morning I loaded the washing machine and by the time it was done, rain was bucketing down outside,
so instead of the newly cleared outside lines I had to hang my washing on the fold out racks in the back porch,
I had to use both racks which took up the entire available space out there, and the clothes etc took two days to dry, then I finished them off in the tumble dryer for half an hour, just to be sure seams and pockets were properly dry.
more recently (two weeks ago) a neighbour had blue paint splashed onto the back screen door, which went through the screen onto the solid door,
then oozed down,
and puddled on the step,
then trickled across the walking area we all use to access the rubbish bins and washing lines. This was done in the dead of night when no one was awake to hear anything. Imagine waking up to this?
This is the same neighbour who had white paint splashed ALL OVER the front porch including all the pot plants, just a few years ago. A much bigger mess, for sure, but why do this?? Someone has a grudge and without evidence, we can't say who it might be, though there is a suspect. Complaining to Housing gets little response.
Moving on to more cheerful matters:
one of G's latest drawings,
and another one. This twin LOVES to draw and is learning to write too. A is more the outdoors active type who loves to play on the swings, though she also loves colouring and painting.
