Robin Hood - Men In Tights

Robin hood - Men In Tights

I own a few (dozen) movies on DVD and I have a typed list of them in a folder in a drawer somewhere.

When I look at the viewing choices available on TV for any particular day,
(AFL Game Day, Footy Flashbacks, UEFA Europa League Highlights, World of Free Sports....pfft!),
I'm often disappointed and decide to watch a DVD instead.

The choices there are easier because I've only collected things that I like to watch, things that I don't mind watching over and over. (NO SPORTS)

Like the Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds and Bones.

(And Fringe; Warehouse 13; MacGyver; Dexter; Eureka; Stargate; Farscape and Firefly.........)

Along with the movies I've collected.

But even then, sometimes I can't decide.

So I get out the list, shuffle the pages with my eyes closed and randomly stab at a title.

Yesterday afternoon, I watched Robin Hood - Men In Tights.

Have you seen it??

It's hilarious.
(Mel Brooks was involved in the making, how could it not be funny?)

I laughed my.......well, I was going to say I  LMAO, but that fatty boombah is still swaying along behind me with every step I take , so clearly I didn't, but I did laugh a lot.

I'm not going to tell you anything about the movie, I suck at reviews, but there's a little singing, a little dancing, a little mayhem......

If you haven't seen it, find a copy and watch it.
If you're anything like me, you'll laugh.

  1. I'm currently watching Fringe on DVD back to back episodes/seasons in the right order as Fringe was screened on t.v. out of order. Have you seen Sanctuary another good sci-fi show :-).

  2. Your television habits are very similar to "the Spouses" lol.

  3. I refuse to watch sport - I read instead.

  4. Even the footy is bait dangled by shifty advertisers but I like it because it's REAL. The shows you've mentioned are stupid. Aimed at people with no brains.

  5. I did see it years ago and I remember laughing a lot at the time.... now I can't remember much about it. My good or bad news (which ever way you look at it) is that I don't have a TV anymore. I do watch some things on the computer but I honestly never thought I would be TV'less. When my husband was alive, we had to have a TV in every room in the house.

  6. Windsmoke; I have seen some of Sanctuary, but not much. I'll catch up with it at some point.

Kim; I can count him as a friend then.

EC; I read too, but mostly I'll watch dvds.

    R.H. that's me, brainless.

Manzanita; at least you have the computer to play dvds in if you choose.

  7. I agree completely River, I hate sports TV..if I liked sport I'd be out there doing it. I love my collection of old movies including Robin Hood MIT which I own and watch from time to time.

  8. Hahaha! Wouldn't it be great if we could laugh our FA's off??!! I'd pick THIS movie to do it, along with 'Young Frankenstein'!!

  9. I've never seen it .... will add it to my 'list' of DVDs to look for when crazy sales are on.

Have you seen 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' - worth it just for the Ruprecht scenes!

    One contemplates with a shiver
    The doings of Maid River.

  11. Hi River,

Not seen Robin Hood - Men In Tights - but I have seen Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles - great films.

  12. Tempo; ditto. And another thing, we have a choice of 15 channels here now, why the heck can't "they" pick two or three of those and dedicate them entirely to sport, with another one or two just for news, that would still leave ten channels to be divided up between movies, old and new, TV series, Old and new, and kids cartoons and shows.

Red Nomad; weight watchers and Jenny Craig would go out of business.I don't recall Young Frankenstein, although I have seen Young Einstein.

Kath; No, I haven't seen Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, I'll add it to my list.

Lord Rochester; I am never in a dither. Well, almost never.

Plasman; I love Blazing Saddles! I'm a bit behind on my Dexter, they've switched it to a later time slot, when I need to be asleep and I don't have a recorder. I have season 6 on my list to buy though.
