The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
Not my kind of music but she is a great singer and a really nice person.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back? :)
ReplyDeleteAndrew, I like her. I don't like all of her songs, but I do have several on my playlists. I saw her in concert once here in Adelaide and when I bought a souvenir I met her mum who was manning the sales table.
ReplyDeleteSnoskred; thank you, we'll see how it goes. It may not be a regular thing just yet.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning!
ReplyDeleteNot available here.
Sharon Qualls; I'm really sorry about that. Grace's link below works according to other commenters. This is one of the reasons I stopped the musical Mondays. Years ago all videos played for everyone, and I don't know why the restrictions are in place now.
DeleteThat video isn't available in the US - but this version of it is - On A Bad Day by Kasey Chambers
ReplyDeleteGrace; thank you for the link. I find it extremely annoying that restrictions are placed on music videos.
DeleteNot available in my Country, I followed the link Grace provided and that one worked well.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard that song before but I do like it, Thank you for bringing back Musical Monday.
I did the same thing; I liked it!!
DeleteJimmy; it's one of my favourite songs. I don't know that I'll be doing this every week, we'll see how things go.
Deletefishducky; I'm grateful to Grace for the link, but if any videos don't play, anyone could probably find them on youtube and listen.
Grace's link worked--thanks Grace. I have not heard her before but I really liked the song and her.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; Kasey is an Australian who grew up living in camps as her dad was a fox hunter, she rarely visited cities as a youngster. This song is from a few years ago.
DeleteAll y'all are welcome - Glad I could be of assistance.
ReplyDeleteGrace; thank you very much for providing the link. I still think restrictions on music videos are annoying and unnecessary.
DeleteNot for me, but she has a lovely voice. And some days the tears seem endless.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; her voice is unique, a little rough now and again and she has recently had throat surgery, but I don't remember why. Some days the tears are a waterfall.
DeleteHi River,
ReplyDeleteFar too country and western for my tastes.
:o)
Cheers
PM
PlasMan; I knew it would be, but thank you for giving it a go.
DeleteNever heard of her, but I really like that song. It's like old-style country.
ReplyDeleteVal; she is Australian and didn't get any "hits" in America for quite some time. Most of her albums are very country. I've been a fan for years, but don't like everything she's done.
DeleteNot my cup of tea but she is loved by many.
ReplyDeleteMargaret-whiteangel; she has a unique style that doesn't quite fit the mould, but Kasey has a loyal following.
DeleteI've always liked Kasey Chambers....I saw her perform with her dad, Bill and her brother. Nash in "The Dead Ringer Band" at the Gympie Muster in 1998. I've got her "Captain" CD...and still like it very much.
ReplyDeleteI like the music she did with her ex, Shane Nicholson, too.
Good to have you back, River. :)
Lee; nice to know someone else remembers the Dead Ringer Band, I love that song "He Thinks I Still Care" from that time.
DeleteI don't remember what year I went to her Adelaide concert, the first one, I didn't go to the second one.
Hi River,
ReplyDeleteInteresting music video choice. I'm okay with the occasional bit of Country n' Western and Kasey is a good singer in that genre.
Must go now, the square dance is about to begin.
Gary
Gary; I'm glad you liked it. I like square dancing too, we learned a bit of that in high school, but only enough to put on a show for Parent's Day. I wish I'd learned more.
