Let me introduce...
Mary Elizabeth Grainger
M.E.G. aka Meg
I noticed these little redheaded "Madeline" dolls on a blog I discovered a few months ago, l'astronave, link is here. Fresca has quite a few of these dolls, she calls them Girlettes with Penny Cooper as the ring leader and they have an adventure now and again.
Very soon I wanted one too, so I went to ebay and found this one in her little Equestrian outfit, with her first prize ribbon, and she arrived on Tuesday. I was so excited!
She's ADORABLE! I hope Lola gets along with Meg!
ReplyDeleteVal; Lola gave her a good sniff and then ignored her, which is fine with me.
DeleteI see the makings for a creepy movie.
ReplyDeleteOK, she is cute.
joeh; I don't think I'd know how to do a creepy movie, but there will be photos of Meg here and there around Adelaide once the pollen weather clears enough that I can go out.
DeleteWhat an adorable doll! No wonder you invited her into your life. :)
ReplyDeleteBoy, I sure got a wonderful surprise today. There was a lovely card in the mailbox... from YOU! Holey moley. Thank you soooo much. Sweet people like you make the world a better place. Thank you.
Susan; she is adorable, all the "girlettes" are. I'm glad the card arrived at last :)
DeleteShe is so cute...and made very welcome by her new mates, I'll bet! :)
ReplyDeleteLee; the boys (chimpanzees) love her already.
DeleteThe child within comes out.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; the child within comes out a lot.
DeleteI love the adventures I see on l'astronave. And there is MEG, on your own shelf! That was some trip.
ReplyDeleteJoanne; I'm glad I found l'astronave and discovered the girlettes.
DeleteShe is a cutie, I too have a collection left over from my daughter.
ReplyDeleteMerle..........
Merle; I'd like to see photos of your dolls.
DeleteShe is adorable!!! Love her kicking back on the couch.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; kicking back on the chairs is what we do best, so Meg fits right in. I think she will be a tad more comfortable once I get more clothes for her.
DeleteWhat fun! May she grace your home for a long time to come.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; she will be here as long as I am.
DeleteHello Miss Meg, Hope your day is full of laughter and sunshine
ReplyDeleteDora; Miss Meg says Hello back, but would like you to know it is windy and raining here, so she is happy to be inside where it is warm and dry.
DeleteOh, my Nieces would love her, they are into horses a lot.
ReplyDeleteLove all the scenes you made. Mielebaer, Elmo, Blanket and Lille Ingo sure looked on with joy!
Iris Flavia; I'm not into horses at all, that is just the outfit she arrived in and I hope to get more clothes for her soon, summer is coming and the riding jacket will be too hot to wear. She needs little dresses.
DeleteWell she is a cutie. Have fun there with her.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; Ill take her out and about now and again and take my camera too, so you can all see where she goes.
DeleteThere is nothing quite like a happy and cheerful Madeline Doll. Meg is lovely. I have an IG account that has featured 'Rose Cottage Madeline' :) and she has appeared on my doll blog in the past as well.
ReplyDeleteSerenata; welcome to drifting. I just had a look at your doll blog and I know I'm going to enjoy going back for more.
DeleteInstead of Elf On A Shelf you can have Meg On Your Leg or on a peg or ... Meg on whatever rhymes with Meg! :D
ReplyDeleteI tried to comment using my phone and had no success--finally have my laptop back and can write, WELCOME TO MEG!!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to following her adventures.
I haven't mailed the plaid dress yet, but I will soon!
I ordered a little knit bear for my grand daughter, and I received two. The maker couldn't decide which one to send and so she sent two. We had two tea parties with our little friends, and Iris was enthralled. It is a wonderful gift to be able to be a part of a child's imaginings. Even more wonderful to keep that imagination alive in our own hearts long after the visit. You've clearly managed to do just that.
