Sunday Selections # 525
Long, long ago, in days of yore...Kim of Frog ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if overseas bloggers care to join us.
The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I occasionally join in as do a few others. Drop in to Elephant's Child and have a look.
My little red-haired girls are the stars today:
Meg: I have a pirate sword. Put your hands in the air and give me all your gold
Gillian: I don't have any gold
Meg: then hand over the bunnies and no one gets hurt
Gillian: I can't do that
Meg: why not?
Gillian: because my hands are in the air!
Followed by the hysterical giggling only little girls can do
Let's play in the Pirate Ship!
Aye Aye Captain
I'm doing ALL the steering
maybe we can find Gilligan's Island 😀
Seas are getting rough Captain
hold her steady as you can helmsman, I'll climb up and look for land
hard aground Sir! that's pretty steady I think
you're right, we are beached
we need to get to the top of this cliff
we can climb up on this part here
and hold onto the ropes
then jump across
Oof! I'm okay, now you follow me
okay, here I come
oh no, I'm slipping, help..
grab hold of my bag, I'll pull you up
we made it!!
Meg: this sand is lovely and soft
Gillian: so white too
Meg: I'm hungry after all that work, think we can get some fish and chips for a beach picnic?
let me check my bag, I think I have some money
here we go, fish and chips are on me!
Meg: If Mary-Anne was here she'd bring us a banana cream pie for dessert
Gillian: if this was Gilligan's Island
I can tell you had fun putting this together!
ReplyDeleteKathy; I did and it was so handy having soft blankets in the right colours.
DeleteThis is fantastic River, really enjoyed how you put all of this together and that pirate ship is a dream!
ReplyDeleteXO
WWW
WWW; thank you, i love the ship too, a bargain at $10 from a thrift store.
DeleteGirls just wanna have fun!
ReplyDeleteHave yourself a fun week ahead, River...take good care. Cuddles to the lovely Lady Lola...and make sure those two girls behave themselves while having their fun! :)
Lee; this coming week promises a little tension from a certain other, but I'll have fun with the girls as much as I can. Lola is leaping around like a kitten now that her headache is gone.
DeleteBig, big smiles. And thank you (and the girls).
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; you are very welcome, glad you enjoyed this.
DeleteYou're making me wish for another granddaughter.
ReplyDeletejoeh; is there any chance you might get one? Perhaps a great-grand daughter.
DeleteAww they play so cute together and they do have great toys to use their imagination on. Gillian has a cute sense of humor and Meg has a pile of cash to play with.
ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; I'd like a pile of cash myself. They do play well together.
DeleteYou really enjoy yourself setting these scenes up. It shows and was extra entertaining this week.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; thank you. It was fun and I even had to do some thinking, which is probably good for me.
DeleteFun post today River......I see a children’s book in the making.....
ReplyDeleteCathy; thank you. I'm having similar book thoughts, but not sure yet how to get that done.
DeleteHow fortunate they beached on Fish 'n Chips Island.
ReplyDeleteJoanne; that was very fortunate and I let them have the fish'n'chips for free later that night.
DeleteThis was such fun, and joyful!
ReplyDeletemessymimi; thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteGreat job, and very cute.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Dora; thank you. You stay safe too.
DeleteOh River, you certainly do an amazing job with your two dolls and the display and along with your words to accompany them - well done and thank for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; thank you, I like making a story to go with the photos.
DeleteMind you!!! Have you based this on the kinder ad - did you provide some chocolate???
ReplyDeleteLove-love-love the pirate-ship!
Oh, OK a wonderful beach and fish and chips, hmmm, much better!
Very cute and I think I saw some episodes of Gilligan's Island, too!
Iris Flavia; I don't remember a Kinder ad like this and there was sadly no chocolate involved.
DeleteIt´s a new ad and according to how the mouths form it´s an English-based one. Maybe a hint your two girls want chocolate? ;-)
DeleteA pirates' tale at its best!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; thank you :)
DeleteThe blanket made perfect sand! And the mini money was perfect!
ReplyDeleteMedicatedMoo; Just the week before I'd got that winter blanket out of storage thinking I might need it soon. Serendipity.
DeleteOh my gosh! That is SO cute! I love the pirate ship and the water and the beach. I think they landed on GILLIAN'S Island! Perhaps a long-lost relative bequeathed it to her. They might find a clue in the sand or a buried treasure chest.
ReplyDeleteVal; you're right, it must be Gillian's Island. I do have a treasure chest, but it's bright green plastic, actually a tiny toy supermarket dumpster. I'm going to be searching the local thrift stores for a small carved jewellery box, which they can find next time they are on their beach.
DeleteI am first in line for the book about the adventures of Meg and Gillian. I love their stories so very much!
ReplyDeleteGranny Annie; I'm much too lazy to actually produce a book. I talk about it, but that's all I've got. Talk.
DeleteFirst time I've played with dolls in the sand in such a long, long time. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeth Waltz; welcome to drifting and thank you.
DeleteGirl Power! Such fun River, where there's a will, or fish and chips, there's a way 😉
