Linda Sue; She does have a lot to do, but sending a telegram doesn't take much time, just a phone call I think. I meant this as a bit of a joke, since he lives right there, so there's no need for the telegram that many people (not all) get in nursing homes etc.
Arkansas Patti; the Queen does send out congratulatory telegrams, people here in Australia have received them. Not everybody, which makes me wonder how she chooses.
I hope that blogger will allow me to comment this time. It has flatly refused two earlier attempts. I hope that the Queen is close enough to him not to need to send him a telegram - and that his grandson rings him from overseas.
Elephant's Child; I think a telegram might be good for a laugh while they drink their cups of tea. Going further, when the Queen turns 100, will she herself receive 'the telegram'? I certainly hope and expect that Harry will ring him.
Heh, heh! That's a good question. I wonder if telegrams go out automatically. There can't be so many upcoming centenarians as to justify a full-time job for somebody to physically sent them out. If there WAS a list that would kick out a telegram, would Prince Philip be on it? I say no.
Val; if there is a list, who chooses who goes on it? We've had people here in Australia get a telegram from the queen, but with more and more people living longer surely they won't all be getting telegrams from the palace. I am wondering if Prince Philip is on the list.
I shall keep this short and sweet. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! I am truly surprised to have received this: Laughing Horse Award from Yorkshire Pudding , also known as YP, for being the Australian Blogger of the Year. Click the link to read the nice things he said.
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by River (that's me) and can be found here This week's words/prompts are: 1. on the run 2. belong 3. street 4. breakfast 5. tent and this image: taken by "Genius" and allowed by Val . Also Charlotte's colour of the month which is Orient Red for September.
This is one of the really big questions. Let's just hope he lives long enough for us to have an answer!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; he is out of hospital and home again, so let's hope he makes it.
Deletehe. may bail before June, so as not to pressure the Queen. She has a lot on her plate.

Those two...
ReplyDeleteIris Flavia; those two are always worth a story.
Delete....just as long as it's not a renewal of his driver's licence!
ReplyDeleteMedicatedMoo; he hasn't had a licence for several years now, not since he ran his car into a ditch, or whatever it was that happened.
DeleteDidn't know she did that. Maybe just slip him a card with his tea.

She might visit him at least.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; that shouldn't be hard, they live in the same house/palace/castle/ retreat in Scotland. One goes where the other goes.
DeleteNow, that's a thought..... :)
ReplyDeleteLee; and will she send herself the telegram when she turns 100? Ha Ha.
DeleteWell, she has staff for that, you know...
ReplyDeleteJoanne; that's true she does have staff, and plenty of them.

DeleteGood question as I wondered that myself but I don't think he will, might get a peck on the cheek if he's lucky :)
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; he'd probably prefer a peck on the cheek.
DeleteYour question made me smile. It would be a good laugh if she did.
