Wednesday's Words on a Friday

Image
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by Messymimi and can be found here This week's words/prompts are:  1.district  2.slippery  3.feast  4.stop  5.paper  6.recruit  and/or:  1.concede  2.threaten  3.screen  4.gain  5.enhance  6.gasp Charlotte's colour of the month, straw yellow can be seen in the image at the top of the post. Sunday Selections # 751

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.  A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.  Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. **not sure if Elephant's Child will be joining us, she has a lot on her plate right now** my kindle has a few different images that appear when it shuts down, this is one of my favourites, this is another. Other pages have birds, fish and some very old authors. I was very surprised to see speckled eggs when I bought this dozen, it's been over a decade since I saw any, usually they are just plain shells. on the floor in front of th...

My mother had several, along with the sulphur crested ones, in ginormous cages with plenty of room for them to fly. They can be taught to talk and...

Beginning today with something I saw on a real estate listing: an older style concrete laundry tub AND it's a triple! Most tubs back then were doubles, triples were mostly out on farms I think. I'd love one of these! (and a laundry big enough to hold it.) Walking around the block recently I saw this beautiful red camellia there's not many left on the tree, the winds have blown them to the footpath I saw this cute little meerkat v...
