It's Wednesday!

Image
And I'm here reading, commenting, making a note of today's "Words for Wednesday", but I can't promise I will have a story here on Friday.  I usually write them on Thursdays, but tomorrow morning I will be having my first cataract surgery and for a few days I think reading and writing might be out of the question.  We'll see how things go. Here's a ginger cake I baked in my tiny kitchen, I took this standing in the "doorway", there is no actual door between kitchen and living/dining/everything else room Not much elbow room, right? Luckily the fridge sits in an alcove.

Tuneful Tuesday

This might put a smile on your faces: Johnny Chester Shame and Scandal in the Family I thought it was by Trini Lopez and he does have a version, as do several others, but this is the one I remember from my past. I hope it plays.

Sunday Selections # 734

Image
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.  A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.  Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us more often. Beginning with this month's calendar page: and moving on to the redheads: "Oh no! What will we tell the Captain?" "He's going to want to know who didn't put the handbrake on" "At least we were all out of the car when it rolled backwards. I'll get the truck." "Riley, you got the wrong truck, this one doesn't have a winch." Back to Victoria now with a bit more of R and V's holiday:...

Wednesday's Words on a Friday

Image
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by Elephant's Child and can be found here This week's words/prompts are:  1.bookseller  2. solve  3. shore  4. lied  5. buy   and/or:  1. folly  2. tales  3. love  4. curious  5. practical Here is my story: continuing Claudia and Christopher's story:   True to my word, I waited by the peach tree right after breakfast, with a small jar of the peach jam mum had made every year since the first time I stole the peaches. When Christopher spotte...

Please, please be free forever. this is a faded old "fire truck" that usually sits on my front porch with plants in it I decided it needed refreshing, only to find the metal badly rusted almost to the point of di...
