Just yesterday I bragged about never getting sick
I'll never do that again, fate hates to be tempted.
I was at the twins house, playing with them, eating lunch etc, they were sneezing, a visiting toddler had a runny nose....
And now I'm sick.
coughing, coughing, coughing...you get the idea.
Now I'm stuck at home so I don't infect anyone else, though I do have to go to the chemist tomorrow for cough syrup.
I'll wear a mask.
Poor you! Hope you feel better soon. Children are infectious little beasts, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI've cancelled an appointment today - sore throat.
jabblog; I am so rarely sick it really throws me off balance when it happens. Children are happy to share sneezes and germs along with their toys and hugs.
DeleteLittle children are quite the germ magnets. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteKathy G; thank you, I'll be fine pretty soon I think. I hope.
DeleteHave you had a flu injection this year? If so, did it protect you from an even worse bout of coughing etc? I am thinking of protecting myself this winter, if they work.
ReplyDeletehels; I have had flu and covid injections and don't know if it made any difference since I rarely have colds and can't remember the last one to make any comparisons. I think the injections do work, I have them every year, the difference this year is I was playing with three toddlers who were all in various stages with their colds.
DeleteYeah, never temp the fates like that again ;) Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte; I will never say such a silly thing again and hopefully the fates will leave me alone.
DeleteLittle kid germs are the most effective at taking out a granny! I have also experienced this! Get well soon!Do not let it turn into something more aggressive!
ReplyDeleteLinda Sue; if I had known the twins were sneezy I might have stayed home. And their visiting baby cousin, a year younger had a runny nose too. Knowing that I definitely would have stayed home.
DeleteOh, gack! How about your friend you´re helping then? Still possible?
ReplyDeleteOh, can you get Acerola? Works pretty well.
DeleteIris; helping won't be possible while I am sick, once I am well again I think her sister will be there helping for a while as she lives closer than I do. I don't know what Acerola is.
DeleteMaybe ask at the pharmacy for Acerola. It´s natural and it helps quick.
DeleteAlso phone and e-mail help your friend, I sure know! (Ingo -sick)
Iris; I googled and it is cherry, probably in a syrup form, I don't think we have it here. I'm using what I always use, cider vinegar and honey in warm water, several glasses during the day and a cough syrup from the supermarket which seems to be helping. My friend will be in hospital for a few days, maybe a week, I will email you why.
DeleteAwwww...yes, the word 'never' should 'never' be used. Sounds like a pun, but I am sure you know what I mean. Bless your heart! I got my flu and Covid vaccines late October, and I just got my Covid booster shot last Saturday. Sending you much love and warm hugs, and chicken soup is very good for coughs and pretty much everything else. Take good care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteLinda's Relaxing Lair; true "never say never" and now I won't ever say it again. I had both shots in early May. Chicken soup sounds good and I have a can of that in the pantry.
DeleteSo sorry. I was always fighting a cold when I taught school.
ReplyDeleteJenn Jilks; all the children sharing their germs with you!
DeletePoor you. I hope it passes quickly. I am battling an infection (two doses of antibiotics haven't touched it) and am a grumpy piece of work.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; perhaps a stronger antibiotic is needed? I'm quite grumpy myself having lost sleep due to coughing. I hope your infection gets better soon.
DeleteAww, that's bad. When we get to our senior years, I think it is a good idea to try to protect ourselves from child infections, or any really, if we can. Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; thank you. If I'd known the twins and the little cousin were sniffly I would have stayed home.
DeleteWe call that the kiss of death. It happens on baking shows too. People will say something never happens, and boom. Enter the kiss of death.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!!!!
The Happy Whisk; death is not allowed to be kissing me! I know what you meant though. I hope to feel netter soon, I think a good nap might help.
Delete"better"
DeleteChildren should be sealed in plastic bubbles until they are 21.
ReplyDeleteMike; no, just until they know to cover their sneezes and coughs and wash their hand thoroughly.
DeleteKids are crud factory.
ReplyDeleteDora; only when they are sick.
DeleteColds are awful, I'm praying you recover quickly.
ReplyDeletemessymimi; thank you, I'd like to recover quickly but I guess this thing will just have to run its course.
DeleteOh my, that's not good. Hope you feel much improved quickly and it's good to read you are thinking of others by wearing a mask when you go to the chemist.
ReplyDeleteMargaret D; today was the all over aching day and shivering too, but I have two heaters running and a hot water bottle against my back, most of the aching has stopped and the shivering too.
