Sunday Selections #743

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us more often.

Beginning with this month's Calendar page:

Moving on to some autumn colour:

some are random street trees

others are within the grounds here, love the lime green car 😃

multiple shades of autumn

this one looked much nicer through the sunglasses, a deeper shade of red

walking to an eye appointment recently I walked on the opposite side of the road, just for a change, and saw this aeonium still wearing its Christmas tinsel scarf and a couple of other decorations.

Another tinsel scarf had fallen to the ground

by a cafe is this cute little doggy dish with water for visiting pups

this picture was sent to me by "no-one" a cupped leaf filled with rain water and another leaf floating in it.

my first ever attempt at origami, someone left a kit with papers and instructions in my mailbox.

Oldest daughter made winter coats for the twins for their birthday

she's quite handy with the machine isn't she? (made her own wedding dress years ago and waistcoats for the groom and groomsmen)

I think you'll have to agree,

these little girls you see, (singing along with the movie)

are the sweetest little Moanas

in the world.

    1. Linda's Relaxing Lair; thank you. Many cafes here put out water bowls, especially along the beaches and up in the hills area. not within the city though.

  3. That looks like an exuberant performance by the girls. The coat is beautiful. I can almost feel the texture by looking at it. The flower buttons are a nice touch. I really like the picture of the water leaf. "No-one" has a good eye for photography. Your origami turned out well.

    1. Val; the girls LOVE Moana and sing and dance along with it. The coats are gorgeous and T knows the girls will love the flower buttons, Ana loves the hood and pockets too. They both love pockets for some reason. "No-one" has a better eye than I do. I'm happy with the origami and will try another one later this week.

  4. I like origami and some people create some amazing things.
The twins coats are gorgeous and will suit them beautifully - and I love their happy faces.
That leaf within leaf water shot is brilliant.

    1. Elephant's Child; I like origami but never thought to try any myself. The twins happy faces always make me smile too. I love the leaf within leaf shot and may print and frame it.

  5. The aeonium is fantastic. Despite hose watering throughout summer, all the surrounding plants struggle to survive, but the aeonium still thrives.

    1. hels; aeonium is tough, I barely watered at all during summer and mine are still alive. All the jades are flowering now too.

  6. Tree colours are disappearing now, as leaves fall.
The coats are great. How clever.
Do you know who left you the origami?
The three year olds are looking very grown up.

    1. Andrew; plenty of bare branches here now too. I love the coats, which are machine washable as things should be for young children. They do look quite grown up for three. No idea about the origami.

  7. I've "acquired" one of your trees.

  8. I agree about the coffee. Those coats are wonderful and the girls are a delight.

    1. messymimi; I'm not such a fan of coffee these days, I use too much sugar and am trying to cut that back, so now coffee tastes wrong and I drink tea instead. The girls are delightful, until one has something the other wants and isn't ready to share just yet. I heard soome ear-splitting screams last week. Gen had something and Ana wanted a turn, but Gen wasn't ready to give it up yet.

  9. Hi. I am back
What a heartwarming and colorful Sunday Selections! I loved the autumn hues, the charming lime green car, and the sweet surprise of Christmas tinsel still hanging on. The pup water dish was adorable, and your granddaughters as little Moanas completely stole the show.

That origami attempt? Brilliant first try!

  10. Seeing those Autumn colors makes me sad, kinda. 15C only here! Raining all the time. Feels like Autumn here, too, after that long Winter....
Well Christmas is soon, right, in July in your place?
Ingo is very good with origami, me.... not so much! Oh and fK can do wonders with that - keep on doing it! Most people admire and love it and you can cheer them up with this!
Those two are nearly adults, how can they grow so fast?! My Niece turns 15 soon and two years ago already... like an adult. Scary and a bit sad, don´t you agree? Well, that´s life...

    1. Iris; only 13C here today, I have two heaters running.
Not everyone does Christmas in July and I certainly don't, too much cooking involved.
The girls aren't anywhere near adults yet, you should hear the screaming when they fight over a toy or book! They are only 3.
I will keep trying with the origami, but only until the papers run out, I won't buy another kit.

    2. Heating is off here. I have Christmas-stuff (only a bit) on here all year round cause I am lazy. And Ingo does not mind :-)
Screaming can go on endlessly, we just did that (all good now).
I read you with the origami....

  11. Lovely collection R. Hope your cold has improved and your eye healed.
The twins are sweet, I'm sure they get cuter each time you show photos of them.
Love the coats, a job well done and a talented lady.
I have a book on origami, only opened it a couple of times, it's old as my mother gave it to me years ago...must open it and see what I can do!

    1. Margaret D; the cold is better but still coughing too much. The eye needs another operation, one lens is sitting "not quite right" Daughter and grand daughter are talented dressmakers, as was my mother and mother-in-law. I can sew, but not as well as they can.
