Sunday Selections #767

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.

A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.

Nothing rude or vulgar though.

And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.

In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.

Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.

Beginning today with a delivery van I haven't seen in a long time:

a feather and Peck van, delivering pasture raised eggs. I don't know where to.

Window washers! A daredevil job for sure. That particular building is HUGE and the front is 98% windows.

a heavenly blue car to fit with Charlotte's colour of the month

and what appears to be a flat tyre, I hope he doesn't plan on driving too far.

parked beside my lawn, this is a too common sight these days with many neighbours aging and becoming unwell. No flashing lights or screaming sirens though, just help when someone needs it.

cloudy skies over the Monarto Safari Park, where "no-one' and her best friend took the best friend's two sons a few weeks ago.

Meerkats rolled up and snoozing

while one keeps watch

Gorillas keeping warm with blankets

this one seems to be hunting for something

Rhinoceros, or "Chubby Unicorns" as the park people call them. There are t-shirts and caps to buy with Rhinos on them that read "save the Chubby Unicorns"

elephants, okay, ONE elephant, but there are more now, three or four I think, I have seen them arriving by truck on the TV news.

another "Chubby Unicorn"

This one is eating, the boys really loved them.

I love these twisted old and dead trees.

Giraffes, adults and young ones

two more "Chubby Unicorns"

a cheetah resting in the grass

and a lion doing the same in his separate enclosure, being close to the gate he might be waiting for lunch to be delivered.

this is part of the mural on the fence at the entrance

and more of the mural.

this is Ana dancing with the musical reindeer that sings Jingle Bells when a button is pressed in his foot, the girls have learned to press it for themselves now,

and Gen taking her turn a little more sedately than Ana who loves to spin until she is dizzy. I hope they play, keep your sound on.

finishing with:

Happy Birthday "No-one"

🎂💖😀

  2. Great collection of photos. I can only imagine that Sue would also enjoy this post. Now, about that window washer job. Oh my word. To me, that's too scary. I admire them for doing it.

    1. The Happy Whisk; thank you. I think Sue would have loved the animals. I wouldn't be window washing either, but I do admire those who can do that job.

    1. Dora; we once had a blue car too, hubby eventually wrecked the gear box just like on every other car we had over the years.

  4. I've never seen meerkats curled up like that. Chubby unicorns, haha. There are some nice animal photos, and away the girls go into dance.

    1. Andrew; I have seen baby meerkats curled up but never adults, it must have been a cold day.I like the Chubby Unicorns. The girls danced for quite a while until they staggered with dizziness.

  5. I used to buy eggs from free running hens I could even watch when I still had a car and visited my Brother - you really taste the difference (at least if you believe in it...).
I will not, never, ever be such a window washer (leave alone the windows we have in ground floor... maybe when I´m back from Perth...).
Oh, a flat - "fun" memories (in your country).
My stomach always crumbles when I see such emergency cars and I look the other direction, too. Once I had to call one for Ingo and the guys took care of me after checking Ingo was "OK" - but needed help and they took him with them.I followed in my own car.
LOL, we called the trees in the cloudy pic "broccoli-trees". Ohhhh... next summer (here-summer) I need to visit our meerkats, too!
"Chubby Unicorns"!! I will remember that! Ohhh, and the Lion! And a wonderful mural! Especially the giraffe.
It´s Christmas already? Cute videos! And a happy Birthday from here, too!

    1. Iris; I always buy free range eggs from the big supermarket that isn't Woolies, the woolies ones aren't as good, the ones I buy are very nice tasting with good deep colour.
I would never be a window washer, but I like watching them.
I am used to seeing emergency vehicles and they don't bother me, I know they are there to help. Broccoli tree is funny.
It isn't Christmas yet, by many people are already decorating and the twins house is looking very Christmassy already on the inside.

    2. You can and we do buy eggs from ... if it is true... free roaming chicken. But it is nothing compared to the ones from my Brother´s place - the color is, as you say, deeper and they taste better.
Lazy me has Christmas deco on all year round cause I like the color and it´s just a wee bit, too.
I still imagine you slapping my Mum, LOL... why not my Dad, too? I really have to giggle! But yes, these days you would not leave a kid and a real burning candle alone in a room...

  6. A good selection of photos, R. The old twisted tree looks very interesting, the animals are great to see and the girls just ever so sweet.

    1. Margaret D; thank you, I think "no-one" took most of those photos as her friend would have been looking after the boys who are quite young, I think 5 and 7, or maybe 6 and 8.
The girls are sweet until one wants what the other one has and isn't yet ready to share.

  7. I've never heard 'chubby unicorn' before - I love it! Lovely selection of photographs, and the video clips of the girls are delightful. What happy little souls they look. Happy birthday to 'no-one' too - yet another November birthday.

    1. jabblog; thank you. I have never heard Chubby Unicorn before either, but I like it. It was hard keeping the girls in the frame, a couple of times they spun away from the camera. "No-one" always insisted Christmas decorations weren't allowed until her birthday had passed and I still adhere to that even now that she is an adult living on her own.

  8. The window cleaners brought back a memory to me, when they cleaned, my cat tried to catch the towel from inside, and the window cleaner played with her ! The monkeys with the blankets, look so funny ! I love going in the Zoo, now called animal park.

    1. Ingrid; my Angel used to do the same when I cleaned the shower. We have a Zoo within the city still called a zoo, and the Safari Park used to be called a Zoo too. I haven't been there myself, but I'd like to one day.

    1. messymimi; I haven't been to a zoo in years, ours is too expensive just to get in the gates! I'd like to visit the Safari Park one day. The girls are always a delight, but they are tiring to be with, they have so much energy. "no-one" thanks you.
