Sunday Selections #754
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.
Brother R came to visit and brought me some old paperwork belonging to my dad, who has been dead for 25 and a half years now.
They'd been stored in a container with moth balls and were quite stinky so I pegged them out on the clothes rack in the back porch
three days later, most are now inside, but the heavier items such as dad's passports are still smelly so they are still out there. I now have the original copy of his naturalisation certificate, as well as the photocopy mum gave me last century.
Andrew recently showed off his favourite pen, here are a few of mine, called "Jeststream" they write so smoothly. I've had these for several years now and don't often use them, but they are still as smooth as when I frst bought them.
We took a road trip to Port Pirie again to check on our sister J who is now 76 and I wandered around a shopping centre where I found it is possible to buy a "thinking cap" while R caught up with an old mate.
I had another clogged drain and when the plumber was unblocking it a piece of the pipe broke on the underside, you can see the half-moon of it lying there. We taped it up with gaffer tape...
which didn't work at all, you can see the water from my sink running down and puddling in the garden. She reported the break and asked for a work order to be drawn up to repair the pipe. That was three weeks ago now and nothing has yet been done, and because the upstairs sink also empties into this pipe (and my garden now) it's become quite swampy out there.
here's a pretty little geranium, in different shades
pink with white, white with pink
all on the same bush.
You all remember the twins have three older brothers? The middle brother recently had an accident with his bike
and broke two ankle bones! Apparently most kids break an arm or a collarbone when coming off their bike, but not this time.
this is last Thursday's sunrise, taken by "no-one" on her way to work.
here are the twins "walking" their "bikes" up the driveway slope,
then lifting their feet and rolling back down
both girls giving a "thumbs up"
declaring it to be great fun.
While I was in Port Pirie, the girls mum sent me this, turn your sound up and I hope it plays.
Even after arriving home again I was still smiling from that.
Those little girls are enough to make anyone smile. I love your hair, by the way.
