Wednesday's Words on a Friday

The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems.

The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind.

If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words.

This month the words/prompts are supplied by lissa and can be found here

This week's words/prompts are:

1.train  2.loop  3.scream  4.puzzle  5.bowl

Here is my story:

Simon rushed into the hospital emergency and Dr Roberts ushered him to the curtained area where Jenny lay sedated. She had been brought in by a neighbour who had heard her scream

Peggy was sitting in the chair by Jenny's side with Simon and Jenny's young son calmly doing a jigsaw puzzle on the floor under the bed.

"I'm sorry to call you away from work Simon," said Peggy, "but I heard a crash and then the scream and more screaming, something about being a train on an endless loop."

"Did she fall?" asked Simon. "No, as far as I know the crash was a cereal bowl," said Peggy. "Oh dear," said Simon. He peered under the bed and asked, "did you throw your bowl at Mummy?"

Jerry's face immediately darkened. "I wanted more sugar bombs and Mummy said four bowls was enough." "Come on out from under the bed," said Simon.

Simon thanked Peggy and asked if she could stay with Jenny a while longer. "I have to get Jerry to the psychiatric pediatrician right away, clearly his dosage is no longer enough."

Next month's Words for Wednesday will be posted by River and can be found here

Charlotte's colour of the month for March is Ocean Twilight.

    1. jabblog; I am imagining this because I don't know from experience, just what I see in movies and read in books.

  2. Young Donald J. Trump needed to train hard if he was going to make the US tiddlywinks team. He wobbled along a kind of loop around the grounds of Fordham University. One afternoon, he let out a hysterical scream because his bone spurs were hurting him so much. He limped back to his campus room where he tried to do a quick crossword puzzle from "The New York Daily Post" but as usual he failed miserably. Putting a mixing bowl on his head, he looked in his gilded mirror and said, "Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?". The mirror replied, "Not you Donald. You look like a twat!"

But I am not to judge...

    Mine... real life again:
Transperth online says bus 450 is not running - WHAT, I had to scream!. A puzzle to me. Ingo: There´s a link. Jupp, they stop at ours in a loop, I´ll drive by bus to Warwick, take the train to Perth Underground, hop on #7 to Subi and meet Sami and then I have a bowl of fruit with her maybe. Can be a beer, though, too ;-)

    1. Iris; that's a great and true use of the words, thank you. When I was in the city recently "my" bus was 17 minutes late and right behind it came two more 171s, I was so late home Lola was very upset.

    1. Val; probably no sugar bombs at all. but the boy has a mental problem and has tantrums which is why he is seeing a pediatric psychologist/psychiatrist.

  10. Four bowls? My word. I'd be in a sugar shock.
