Sunday Selections #799
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally.
Charlotte's colour of the month for July is Jade Green.
a sinkhole has appeared in the street the twins live in, but there is no danger to them as they are not allowed to play in the front yard, with there being no fencing in that area. It isn't a huge hole, but worrying all the same, what if more ground opens up?
you'll never guess what I bought! Oh, wait, it's written on the box...
Ta-Da!! Your basic treadmill, not the monster sized Gym variety and wouldn't you know this is the only spot where it fits? So I do my daily walking staring at those dvd shelves.
With my i-pod plugged into my ears.
Speed begins at 1 mile per hour (not km) and can be increased to 11 miles per hour. Currently I walk at 3.5 miles per hour for 30 minutes twice a day. When I can do that without getting all sweaty, I will increase my time but not the speed. Yet.
There is one thing that bothers me: as soon as I step off, my head is "swimmy" and I need to sit with my eyes closed for about 5 minutes. Is this normal?
Hazard Restoration. I have never seen this parked by the flats/units/apartments (ooh posh, apartments 😁) and wondered why it was here. No one here is cooking drugs, so I think possibly it was there for mould removal in a wet area, someone's bath/laundry.
this lawn almost fits the Jade Green of Charlotte's colour of the month, but what's going on with the soccer/basketball balls?
I found the purple one in my garden a few weeks back and rolled it over to that side across the driveway so whoever owned it could see it and claim it. Then a second ball appeared and now there are four. It's a mystery.
one of the side paths between blocks has been widened to facilitate the easier use of a mobility vehicle, good to see people being looked after, there are more and more of these mobility devices around here now as tenants age.
early morning sun on the branches of one of my favourite trees
which has ivy growing up its trunk quite thickly and growing fast. I hope it isn't going to eventually harm the tree. That ivy is higher than my head already.
a deconstructed something, possibly a sprayer of some kind since I spied a nozzle lying between the parts.
I find it interesting that the leaves on this tree are yellowing from the bottom first when many other trees (different types) have changing leaves more randomly spaced.
pretty aren't they?
a little more of Charlotte's Jade Green. Look closely. Does my gherkin seem surprised that I am slicing it?
a burst of recent sun between rain showers made this shadow which I noticed is also striping the shelves there.
one of my favourite cookbooks (ignore that vertical stripe fault), I bought this mostly for the beautiful pictures
and it has plenty of green which may or may not match Charlotte's Jade Green, but let's not get too particular, greens are very hard to match, just ask any screenprinter.
Oh no! another image I forgot to rotate! And the vertical stripe again. I think they are caused by light interference and will try to be more careful.
Finishing with a picture from a movie I was watching, I paused the dvd to get this, the movie was The Sorcerer's Apprentice with Nicholas Cage as a sorcerer once trained by Merlin, and this image shows part of his shop "Arcana Cabana" and every time I watch this I wish I was able to rummage around on those shelves and in the cabinets. What a treasure trove!

We don't have sink holes here, But we have pot holes here.
