Whimsical Wednesday # 179

Welcome back to Whimsical Wednesday!

The day for your googled giggle that gets you over the hump that is Wednesday and sliding down into the weekend.

so true.
My idea of enough petting is a cuddle and a few strokes down Angel's back, a cheek rub or two, a scratch around the ears, then I've had enough.
AngelBoy would prefer me to rub his chest and belly until my hand cramps and my bum falls asleep.

  1. Sometimes my cat is a scratch hog and sometimes he walks away. No telling.

  2. My two get a lot of petting...they love it, and I love giving it to them. It's a two-way street. They're always up for a cuddle. :)

  3. Joanne has nailed it for this household too. Sometimes they are pat sponges, and other times they will rudely wash the patch I have just stroked.

  4. Cats have their pride, you know.

  5. ... Ha ha ha.. ... I love this River....
My dog is like this with my hubby... he would let him pat him forever...
I like to pat and rough house with the dog...
Angel is lucky to have a Mum like you..... you seem to give him a bit of everything a cat loves... especially the ear scratching..
    Hugs... Barb xxx

  6. Joanne; Angel walks away as soon as I pick up the brush, so I keep it close by.

Lee; I wouldn't mind the petting so much if Angel only came to me when I had nothing else to do. But he always wants his cuddles when I'm busy. Calling him when I have free time doesn't work, he ignores me.

Elephant's Child; I'm hoping that Angel will learn the difference between an empty table and one that is covered with book, laptop, crossword puzzles and my dinner.

Susan Kane; don't we all? Cats are king when it comes to pride though.

  7. That is very good and says so much.
I enjoy stroking Candy as much as she enjoys it. There are times you can go on forever and then, all of sudden, she decides she's had enough but that is not very often.
I seldom brush her these days as she doesn't seem to shed much hair. She will let me brush her but not her tum etc which Precious so enjoyed. Maybe Precious realised with her long, thick hair she needed that daily brushing.

  8. Mimsie; I find I can't pet Angel for long, my hands begin to cramp, plus he prefers to be stroked while I'm busy on the computer and I find it irritating to constantly be brushing cat hair or paws off the keyboard. He seems to be learning and doesn't jump up at the table as much as he used to while I have the laptop open, or does jump up but heads to the other end of the table.

  9. What a skeleton :) it's a wonder your cant didn't run for it's life, or maybe used to it..

  10. I have a dog like that. Insatiable.

  11. Barbara; we once had a German Shepherd who loved to be patted. If you walked outside to the clothesline without patting him on the way he would leap up onto your shoulders with his front paws as if to say "hey, you forgot to pat me!" once we'd scratched around his ears we were allowed to hang the wash without further trouble (*~*)

whiteangel; not my skeleton or my cat, it's a googled image. But I'd love to have a skeleton to hang or sit on the front porch.

Friko; I found most of the dogs we had over the years were okay with just a bit of patting as long as they also had access to our TV snacks.
