Musical Monday # 100

Musical Monday

I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.

I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.

I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.

Today’s clip is: Elton John

with lyrics, so you can sing along.

  1. Hi River,

I like some of Reg's songs - but not this one (it's a little bland and depressing).

    :o)

    Cheers

  2. Elton has always been "there"....he's been around almost (operative word "almost") as long as I have! He's a bit of an institution.

However, I've none of his albums among my collection of LPs, cassettes and CDs other than "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". I think it's probably still here some where. Three of my favourite Elton John songs are "Your Song", "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and "Song for Guy".

When you start thinking about the songs....there are so, so many. The collaboration through the years between Elton John and Bernie Taupin has been fabulous. Taupin wrote brilliant lyrics.

A nice start to the week, River - it kick-started my path down Musical Lane....thanks. :)

  3. I was rather fond of EJ in my younger years; particularly Bennie and the Jets.

  4. Plasman; I agree it's bland, but I like it. I'd forgotten his name was Reg.

Elephant's Child; it got a lot of airplay in its time, so most of us know this one.

Susan Kane; probably it didn't get radio time where you were.

Lee; I don't have any of his albums either, just the few songs I liked.

The Cranky; I remember Bennie and the Jets.
