Musical Monday # 102
Musical Monday
I was introduced to
Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way
to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same
time.
I’ll be finding my clips
on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many
versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong
artist.
Today’s clip is: Tina Turner
Nutbush City Limits
Who doesn't remember this?
Nutbush City Limits
Who doesn't remember this?
Now you're talking.
ReplyDeleteI worship and adore Miss Tina...
ReplyDeleteI don't remember it!!
ReplyDeleteLike fishducky I don't remember it. I remember much more of her work after she discarded Ike. And changed her look. Dramatically. Often.
ReplyDeleteI love it. I can probably remember the dance to go with it. I'm not sure how anyone can't remember it.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe fishducky and EC don't remember this! It became Tina's trademark...a tribute to Nutbush, Tennessee where she was bone. A good energetic start to the week. :)
ReplyDelete"Born" even...not "bone" as I incorrectly typed! :)
DeleteI am among the group that doesn't remember this song. Just as Elephant's Child, I didn't really remember much of the time she was still with Ike.
ReplyDeleteShe is so timeless. :)
ReplyDeleteCan say I don't recall this!!
ReplyDeleteMust have been doing something else at the time - classical music know doubt or studying.
no doubt - one day I will get that grammar correct!!
ReplyDeleteCan't say I've ever heard this one but then I've never been a fan of Tina Turner so that's probably why. Not my cup of tea really but I know she had heaps of fans.
ReplyDeleteR.H. it was very popular for , then not, then it made a comeback and now it's gone again.
ReplyDeleteGrace; I don't go quite as far as worshiping, but she's certainly able to get the feet tapping.
fishducky; I've read all the comments and I'm surprised by how many don't remember this.
Elephant's Child; I remember the changed look and if I try hard, maybe I'll remember more songs that"We Don't Need Another Hero" from the movie Mad Max 3 -Thunderdome.
Andrew; ah, the dance! the one I still do when I hear this and it fits many other songs too.
Lee; I'm as surprised as you are, maybe everyone was otherwise occupied, I had the teenagers then and they had music of all kinds playing all the time.
Cheryl; Ike wasn't good to her or for her, but he did get her started on her career and that's a good thing. Ditto Sonny and Cher.
Happy Elf Christine; I'll go along with timeless, but haven't heard much from her lately. Hopefully she is still singing somewhere.
Margaret-whiteangel; grammar-schmammar. I'm not a huge fan of classical music, a lot of it is too 'heavy' and goes on too long for me, but I did like the "Hooked on Classics" medleys put out by the Philharmonic Orchestra in the 80's.
Mimsie; I knew you wouldn't remember this one and I'll let you know now that you won't know anything from June or July Musical Monday postings, they're all rock music.
Ooops, typos (*~*)
ReplyDeleteIke was out the back making a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteR.H. tea? Ike?? Ha Ha.
ReplyDeleteI remember it well. A real toe tapper :)
ReplyDeleteHi River,
ReplyDeleteI most certainly remember that song. Of course, Tina went onto greater fame as a solo artist.
Gary
Vicki; I still get up and do that dance now and again :)
ReplyDeleteklahanie; and appeared in movies, although I only remember one of them. Perhaps there was only the one...
... great video and start to the week... Thanks River.. hugs.. Barb xxx
