Musical Monday # 154
I was introduced to Musical Monday by Delores who copied the meme from another site.
I think it’s a fun way to show off some of the music we like and brighten up our Mondays at the same time.
I’ll be finding my clips on you tube, so will simply credit that site since there are often so many versions of everything and I wouldn’t want to accidentally credit the wrong artist.
Today’s clip is: The Animals
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

It's a brilliant track.
ReplyDeleteAndrew; glad you enjoyed it :)
DeleteDespite the name they look so clean cut. And even my musically ignorant self remembers and likes this one.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I thought you might remember this, it was big on radio for a while.
DeleteAn excellent track.
ReplyDeleteI do /did enjoy The Animals in my youth, they produced some great songs.
The House of Rising Sun.
We Gotta Get Out Of This Place to name but two!
All the best Jan
Lowcarb team member; I remember those two as well. We gotta get out of this place was played on radio every Friday afternoon just before quitting time at the factory where I worked.
DeleteGood stuff. I'm that old. The Animals were a blues/jazz group with all the right influences, contemporaries of the emergence of the suited Beatles and the scruffy Stones, there was nothing intellectually insulting about their output and I recall hat they were liked by 'hip' people at the time.
ReplyDeleteOh Good - wikipedia confirms my memory and Burdon is now 78! My how time flies,
Ann O'Dyne; I'm quite old too, not as old as Burdon though. I didn't know he is 78 now. They were a very popular group.
DeleteBoy! This song takes me back to the good old times, too. I wouldn't mind a dollar for every time I played it or heard it! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you remember to look up "Autumn Leaves", River? If not...here's a clip for you - the version by the wonderful Nat King Cole.

Happy trails!! :)
Lee; I did look up "Autumn Leaves" and don't like it. I wouldn't mind a dollar for every time I heard my favourite songs either.
DeleteI'm surprised you didn't like "Autumn Leaves", River.
DeleteIt's a beautiful song and was so acclaimed in years gone by. It was very popular throughout the 50s into the 60s - a gold standard.
I guess I still like it because it was one of the songs I grew up with. My mother and grandmother loved it, and Mum played it on our piano often. It's so mellow, so emotive.
I believe the group the aniamals might be little before my time
ReplyDeletepeppylady (Dora); definitely before your time, but not by much, maybe 10-15 years.
DeleteThat brings back memories.
ReplyDeleteMerle..........
Merle; good memories I hope :)
DeleteBoth videos were blocked for me!!
ReplyDeletefishducky; I'm very sorry to hear that, can you listen to them by searching you tube there?
DeleteVery nice selection River
ReplyDeleteGood to hear:)
