Wednesday's Words on a Friday

Image
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along and read it. I haven't highlighted Delores site, since this is her final week of providing prompts, she is closing her blog due to trolls. This month the prompts are supplied by and can be found here. This week's words/prompts are: "the oneness of the universe" "gravity" and/or these words: bland crunch toothache milk duds romance atmosphere Here is my effort : (with a few of last week's words tossed in.) "I'll head on over to the concession stand while you get the tickets," said Celia. "Do you want milk duds?" "Milk duds are so bland," said Shane. "they're for b

Sadly, Delores has opted to close her blog, so this is her last month to supply the prompts. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along and read it. This month the prompts are supplied by Delores and can be found here . This week's words/prompts are:  1: The season that speaks to your heart  2: So many ways to say I'm sorry Here is my effort: I'd arrived at the small, ramshackle building almost a year ago. To call it a Schoolhouse was a wild stretch of anyone's imagination, but I'd been assigned here and on my first day and handful of pupils turned up, looking as if they had been freshly scrubbed just for this occasion. Over time, several more came along a few days

Ready to get infected?

I've had this written down for years, I copied it from a book once, long ago and don't know who wrote it originally. I hope the original author forgives me for putting it here. "Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.  I walked around the corner and someone saw me grin, When he smiled I realised I had passed it on to him. I thought about that smile and then realised its worth,  A single smile like mine could travel round the earth. So if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected, Let's start an epidemic and get the world infected." 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

This month the prompts are again supplied by Delores and can be found here . Sadly, this month will be Delores' last turn with prompting us as she has been plagued by trolls and is closing her blog. The rising wind had the willow swaying in all directions, the intense purple-grey of the g

the dress

you've all wanted to see it, so here it is, in all its long, loose fitting, ummm….. dowdiness? the disappointing part was I felt cold most of the time so I kept on my long, wrap-style cardigan and the dress hardly got seen. long and loose - shapeless, just like me sunray pleats from top to bottom with a tie belt the gold design almost echoes... the band on my "good" watch, which I bought just for the wedding, which has a little bling around the face.

Sunday Selections

Welcome back to Sunday Selections. Begun way back in the mists of time by Kim of Frog Ponds Rock and now continued by Elephant's Child , who gladly accepted my offer to keep this going, with a drastic relaxation of rules. Originally meant for showcasing old photos lost on your files, never seeing the light of day, the meme has morphed into photos of your choice, new or old, good or not-so-good, anything you please, but nothing rude please. If you are participating, please leave me a comment so I can buzz along and have a look. Elephant's Child always participates, and her pictures are always worth seeing. I won't always be participating, the increasing arthritis in the knuckles is more than annoying and typing doesn't help. but I found a couple of photos from way back in June 2014, or maybe it was May, anyway here I am at a wildlife park.  here's me holding a koala, you can see just how large they are, even with me being only five feet tall.
