dented or otherwise damaged cans, what do you do?
This article in yesterday's paper caught my eye. Looks like mould to me. But. Forget the sensational headline for a minute and focus on the can. Notice how it's a little blackened around the bottom rim? I'm not sure it shows, but it looks like the can has been standing in wet conditions, the wrapper looks a little wrinkled too at top and bottom. Was it like this when it was bought? If yes, why buy it? If no, then how was it stored in the home environment? Use by date. Usually irrelevant, unless the can has been opened. We all know that once a can is opened the contents need to be used immediately, especially baby foods. She mentions somewhere in the story that the contents appeared "a bit runny". This happens when food is given to the baby directly from the can, (or jar) with saliva from the baby's mouth being transferred to the contents, which then begins to break down the molecular structure of the canned food. This is one of the really big questions. Let's just hope he lives long enough for us to have an answer!

DeleteI meant this as a bit of a joke, since he lives right there, so there's no need for the telegram that many people (not all) get in nursing homes etc.

ReplyDeleteArkansas Patti; the Queen does send out congratulatory telegrams, people here in Australia have received them. Not everybody, which makes me wonder how she chooses.
DeleteI hope that blogger will allow me to comment this time. It has flatly refused two earlier attempts. I hope that the Queen is close enough to him not to need to send him a telegram - and that his grandson rings him from overseas.
ReplyDeleteElephant's Child; I think a telegram might be good for a laugh while they drink their cups of tea. Going further, when the Queen turns 100, will she herself receive 'the telegram'?

DeleteHeh, heh! That's a good question. I wonder if telegrams go out automatically. There can't be so many upcoming centenarians as to justify a full-time job for somebody to physically sent them out. If there WAS a list that would kick out a telegram, would Prince Philip be on it? I say no.
ReplyDeleteVal; if there is a list, who chooses who goes on it? We've had people here in Australia get a telegram from the queen, but with more and more people living longer surely they won't all be getting telegrams from the palace. I am wondering if Prince Philip is on the list.
