Sunday Selections #727
Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.
A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.
Nothing rude or vulgar though.
And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us.
The meme is now continued by Elephant's Child and I join in as do a few others. Andrew is one. Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look.
Wisewebwoman has also been joining us more often.
Elephant's Child is taking a break for the month of February.
Beginning with the final photos of the Chihuly exhibition, these were taken inside the "Conservatorium" which has ground level walks and also a "tree walk" accessed by steps to get a bird's eye view.
I'm sure you will all agree
pretty spectacular
in cheerful yellows
fiery "flames", these are in the lily pond
dreamy purples
and multi coloured too.
different shapes
these remind me of bullrushes
red and green, favourite colours of friend Iris
bulbous too
with "eyes"?
one could call this "glass elephant blue" to go with Charlotte's colour of the month
globe vase with flowers? stems?
looking down, and zooming in, on the "flames" in the pond
after climbing the steps
to the walkway which goes up and down and around and if you are there at the right time you get damp when the overhead watering system is turned on.
back at home, I have been using my stick blender a lot this summer
to make delicious banana smoothies
the girls prefer wearing next to nothing while the temperatures rise.
Jacaranda trees are setting dozens of seed pods
I thought my quiet day was going to be spoiled by tree cutters/trimmers
going up...
but they were just cleaning out gutters, about time too, it's been several years since this was last done.
meanwhile, the redheads have found themselves >>>
a skateboard!
Meg, "we don't know where it came from,"
Jordan, "but we are happy to have it."
Boy, did you get me by surprise! I just finished my "homework" (session 3 of 6, all due on 19th, oh, help, my teacher is so darn strict), it is Saturday 04:30-ish in the afternoon and BOOM, your Sunday already!
ReplyDeleteThe exhibition is really wonderful.
LOL, yes - I last weekend colored a cupboard red for our spices in the red kitchen from where you can look into the green "laundry-room"!
Reminds me... I still have frozen raspberries in the freezer, and milk I have, too (but it´s too cold!).
Oh, my (certainly green) baby-chair from IKEA says hi (I use it as step for when I need to reach something).
Cute skateboard. And moves!
Ingo is preparing dinner atm, I think I will call a night early today (will have to work on Sunday, too, buhuu (could start only 3 days later as the young rest of the pupils).
I like how the twins have their own table. "No shirt, no shoes, STILL SERVICE!" The gutter-cleaners would have been interesting to watch. Something you don't see every day. I would have been worried that they might tip over in the lift.
ReplyDeleteCertainly, the "conservatorium" is very colourful, interesting and beautiful...fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the twins. The garb they where during the heat of summer is similar to my own....in-house, of course!! :)
Have a good week ahead, River...take care. My cuddles to Lovely Lady Lola.
The walkway looks well located for visitors to view the entire space. And to take photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning - I will wear a waterproof hat.
