Words for Wednesday

Image
The original Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and eventually taken over by a moveable feast of participants when Delores had computer troubles. Sadly, Delores has now closed her blog forever due to other problems. The aim of the words is to encourage us to write. A story, a poem, whatever comes to mind. If you are posting an entry on your own blog, please let us know so we can come along to read it and add a few encouraging words. This month the words/prompts are supplied by Sean Jeating and can be found here . This week's words/prompts are : 1. absolution  2.Auschwitz  3.love  4. resistance  5.without and/or: 1. dancing  2.dreams  3.ears  4. eyes  5.talking use either list or both, or mix and match, just have fun. Charlotte's colour of the month is Carmine as seen above the text here. My own story will hopefully appear on this blog on Friday 23rd

Sunday Selections #775

Long ago, Kim of Frog Ponds Rock, (who no longer blogs), dreamed up a meme called Sunday Selections.  A place where those who were willing could put up photos they wanted to share, new, old, good, bad or indifferent, any photos you please.  Nothing rude or vulgar though. And we don't mind at all if other bloggers care to join us. In memory of Elephant's Child, the meme is now continued by myself and a few others. Andrew is one.  Messymimi is another. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. Charlotte's colour of the month is carmine and I have a few more carmine or near enough to carmine things here: The faded spine of a very old book  that seems to have once been carmine Carmine tomatoes on the cover of an Italian cookbook a carmine spatula with one corner broken off and a carmine tulip on my fridge, sent to me by Sue one year after she visited the "Floriade" flower festival. A recent dinner using thr...

Sunday Selections #774

Charlotte's colour of the month is Carmine, a lovely shade that is a tad pinker than red, but not enough to be crimson. Drop in to their blogs and have a look. Wisewebwoman has also been joining us occasionally. Beginning today with one last "Christmas House" a near neighbour decorated her/his porch area a discarded football beanie. On purpose? Maybe someone was disgusted with the team? More likely accidentally dropped. Someone got a new bed for Christmas and left the old mattress out on the footpath, that dark...

Beginning with this month's calendar page and we are back to my favourite theme, Sugar Skulls, Day of the Dead decor A liitle bit about the calendar and oops, my feet, down below the table there. (Socks with Sandals! ooh-la-la!) "Calaveras,or sugar skulls, molded from sugar paste and decorated with elaborate patterns and bold colours are a vital part of Day of the Dead Celebrations. Their bright designs and sweet flavours a...
